4-硝基苯基丁酸酯被用作： 源自单核细胞的巨噬细胞系对聚乙烯反应过程中酯酶活性的底物 分枝杆菌磷脂酶A和分枝杆菌角质酶活性的底物 测定缓冲液和溶剂对人羧酸酯酶的影响的底物

4-Nitrophenyl butyrate is a nitro-substituted phenolic ester compound. 4-Nitrophenyl butyrate is water-soluble and is tolerated as a substrate by lipase enzymes, making it a useful probe for lipase activity. Hydrolysis of 4-Nitrophenyl butyrate by the enzyme produces p-nitrophenoxide which can be monitored by UV-Vis spectrophotometry at 400 nm. This approach has specifically been used to assess the activities of both cholesterol esterase and lipoprotein lipase and 4-Nitrophenyl butyrate has also been employed as a probe for screening the lipolytic activity of novel microorganism strains.

Application

4-nitrophenyl butyrate has been used: as a substrate for esterase activity in monocyte-derived macrophage cell line in response to polyethylene as a substrate for mycobacterial phospholipase A and mycobacterial cutinase activity as a substrate to determine the effect of buffers and solvents on human carboxylesterase
