CoP/g-C 3 N 4 , a kind of noble-metal-free binary photocatalyst , has been demonstrated to be active for water splitting. However, high recombination rate of charge carriers is still one of the biggest factors to restrict the photoactivity of CoP/g-C 3 N 4 . In this paper, Boron doped g-C 3 N 4 nanodots (BCNDs) were introduced to CoP/g-C 3 N 4 nanosheets (CoP/CNNS) and a novel CoP/BCNDs/CNNS ternary photocatalyst was constructed. Experimental characterization and testing results indicate that BCNDs/CNNS heterojunction was formed in CoP/BCNDs/CNNS ternary photocatalyst. Comparing with CoP/g-C 3 N 4 , CoP/BCNDs/CNNS facilitates electron-hole separation, and the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate can reach 1332.81 μmolg −1 ·h −1 , which is approximately 9.7 times as high as CoP/CNNS. It owns an apparent quantum efficiency of 10.78% at 420 nm. This work would provide a novel strategy to construct high activity g-C 3 N 4 based catalyst without noble metals.
Metal-organic framework materials (MOFs) and their derivatives have been widely used in the field of photocatalytic water decomposition for hydrogen production . In this study, NiS/CdS was initially acquired and subsequently combined with DUT-67 via ultrasound to create a unique ternary photocatalyst NiS/CdS@DUT-67. The rate of hydrogen production for NiS/CdS@DUT-67 is 9618 μmol·g NiS/CdS −1 ·h −1 for NiS/CdS@DUT-67, which is 32 times and 2.5 times higher than that for CdS and NiS/CdS, respectively. Of particular interest is the fact that even after 50 h of photocatalysis, the hydrogen production rate did not show a significant decrease, demonstrating its excellent stability compared to CdS and NiS/CdS. In this ternary system, NiS and DUT-67 function as dual co-catalysts for CdS, collaborating to enhance charge separation during the photocatalysis. This study presents a clear demonstration of the advantages of utilizing metal–organic framework derivatives (MOF-derivatives) cophotocatalysts and their synergistic effect, resulting in improved photocatalytic activity and stability of semiconductors. This innovative approach provides a new perspective on constructing photocatalytic materials with exceptional performance.

In this work, a 3D lignosulfonate composited poly(vinyl formal) (PVF) sponge impregnated by BiVO 4 /polyaniline (PANI)/Ag ternary photocatalyst (PLS-BiVO 4 /PANI/Ag) was designed and fabricated. The synergistic adsorption-photodegradation of five fluoroquinolones (FQs) antibiotics onto PLS-BiVO 4 /PANI/Ag was investigated. Incorporating lignosulfonate as a carrier on PVF sponge improved its structural properties and enhanced its adsorption performance toward FQs. The BiVO 4 /PANI/Ag ternary photocatalyst was well-dispersed and tightly bound to the composited sponge, thus it efficiently degraded the adsorbed FQs through surface photodegradation. PLS-BiVO 4 /PANI/Ag achieved >90% removal efficiency for all examined FQs within 2.0 h in a batch system, while it maintained a steady 80% removal efficiency for 30.0 h in a continuous dynamic treatment system. Photoelectric characterizations and ESR results showed that BiVO 4 /PANI/Ag was consistent with the type II heterostructure and effectively improved the utilization of visible light and the separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. The hole was the dominant active species in the degradation of FQs, while the main degradation pathways included defluorination, decarboxylation and destruction of piperazine ring. The prepared composited sponge is thus characterized by its high performance, convenient operation, eco-friendliness, and practicality in real water treatment systems since it undergoes self-purification and is easily recovered from water without mass loss.
