X-ray photodiodes made of metal halide perovskites (MHPs) which directly convert X-ray photons into electron-hole pairs have shown advantages in low-cost and high X-ray detection sensitivity. However, lattice-mismatched blocking layers deposited by spin-coating or evaporation cannot fully limit the dark current and noise current under large reverse bias. In this work, Solution-processed dopant incorporated epitaxial growth is employed to form sufficient blocking barriers through epitaxially growing lattice-matched n-type MHPs (bismuth-doped) and p-type MHPs (silver-doped) on opposite faces of intrinsic CH 3 NH 3 PbBr 2.5 Cl 0.5 MHP single crystals. Through energy structure design, electron/hole blocking layers can form sufficient charges barriers, the X-ray PDs exhibit a low leakage dark current density of ~ 11 nA cm −2 under large reverse electrical field (over 500 V cm −1 ) and noise current of 47 fAHz −0.5 (1 mm 2 , over 500 V cm −1 ). The large external electrical field enables a state-of-art response speed (fall) of 750 ns, large X-ray detection sensitivity of 36.0 μ C mGy − 1 c m − 2 and the lowest detectable dose rate of 16 nGys −1 (40 kVp). This work will motivate new strategies to fabricate high-performance devices based on perovskites using solution-processed methods. These founding also explore a new generation of low dose and high dynamic X-ray detectors based on MHPs.

Metal halide perovskite photodetectors (PDs) are attractive for next-generation optical communication and biomedical sensing owing to their high absorption coefficients, bandgap tunability, and solution-processability. However, their practical deployment is hindered by interfacial defects and ion migration, which result in high dark currents, noise, and limited operational stability. Here, we report a dual-interface (DI) engineering strategy that incorporates Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene simultaneously at the buried and top interfaces of the perovskite layer. This approach effectively passivates undercoordinated Pb 2+ /I − sites, suppresses trap-assisted recombination, and mitigates ion migration, thereby enabling ultralow-noise and fast-response devices. The optimized DI PD exhibits a suppressed dark current, a detectivity of 1.94 × 10 12 Jones, a responsivity of 0.44 A W −1 , and rise/fall times of 1.65/1.00 μs at 656 nm. The device retains >97 % of its performance after 60 days of nitrogen storage. Application demonstrations confirm error-free visible-light communication up to 10 kHz and precise photoplethysmography monitoring under varying illumination. This work highlights MXene-based DI engineering as a universal and scalable strategy for advancing high-performance perovskite PDs in data communication and healthcare technologies.

X-ray detectors are broadly utilized in medical imaging and product inspection. Halide perovskites recently demonstrate excellent performance for direct X-ray detection. However, ionic migration causes large noise and baseline drift, limiting the detection and imaging performance. Here we largely eliminate the ionic migration in cesium silver bismuth bromide (Cs 2 AgBiBr 6 ) polycrystalline wafers by introducing bismuth oxybromide (BiOBr) as heteroepitaxial passivation layers. Good lattice match between BiOBr and Cs 2 AgBiBr 6 enables complete defect passivation and suppressed ionic migration. The detector hence achieves outstanding balanced performance with a signal drifting one order of magnitude lower than all previous studies, low noise (1/ f noise free), a high sensitivity of 250 µC Gy air −1 cm –2 , and a spatial resolution of 4.9 lp mm −1 . The wafer area could be easily scaled up by the isostatic-pressing method, together with the heteroepitaxial passivation, strengthens the competitiveness of Cs 2 AgBiBr 6 -based X-ray detectors as next-generation X-ray imaging flat panels.

With the increasing demand for detection accuracy and sensitivity, dual-band polarimetric image sensor has attracted considerable attention due to better object recognition by processing signals from diverse wavebands. However, the widespread use of polarimetric sensors is still limited by high noise, narrow photoresponse range, and low linearly dichroic ratio. Recently, the low-dimensional materials with intrinsic in-plane anisotropy structure exhibit the great potential to realize direct polarized photodetection. Here, strong anisotropy of 1D layered bismuth sulfide (Bi 2 S 3 ) is demonstrated experimentally and theoretically. The Bi 2 S 3 photodetector exhibits excellent device performance, which enables high photoresponsivity (32 A W −1 ), I on / I off ratio (1.08 × 10 4 ), robust linearly dichroic ratio (1.9), and Hooge parameter (2.0 × 10 −5 at 1 Hz) which refer to lower noise than most reported low-dimensional materials-based devices. Impressively, such Bi 2 S 3 nanowire exhibits a good broadband photoresponse, ranging from ultraviolet (360 nm) to short-wave infrared (1064 nm). Direct polarimetric imaging is implemented at the wavelengths of 532 and 808 nm. With these remarkable features, the 1D Bi 2 S 3 nanowires show great potential for direct dual-band polarimetric image sensors without using any external optical polarizer.

Currently, most electrochemical sensors use thin films , single fiber or yarn as sensing unit. However, the weaving process remains challenging along with properties such as a large sensing area, rapid response and long-term stable monitoring. Herein, an electrochemical fabric sensor was developed based on a skin-core structured sensing yarn for in-situ monitoring of potassium ion (K + ) concentrations in human sweat and this was achieved through a simple but novel electro-assisted core spinning technique (EACST). The nanofibers in the skin layer of the induction yarn showed excellent hydrophilicity and high specific surface area (8.85 m 2 /g) as well as significant differences in hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity of the warp and weft yarns of the fabric. As such, they could achieve absorption of sweat limit domain in the skin sensing area, so that the sensor can respond quickly within a short time (2.1 s) and achieve long-term stable sensing (above 6000 s). In addition, the sensor exhibited excellent selectivity , potential reproducibility as well as low noise and signal drift (3.6 × 10 −2 mV/s). The large-area (55 cm × 35 cm) of the electrochemical fabric sensor could also be sewn into clothing for integration onto the human body where it could effectively collect sweat for real-time in-situ monitoring of K + signals in human sweat.
