Development and Characterization of Biomimetic Profile Control and Water Plugging Polymer
In order to solve the problems of weak interface interaction and limited control effect of traditional profile control and water plugging materials, which lead to severe fracture flow in tight reservoir and ultra-tight reservoir reservoirs, weak interface effects of traditional profile control and water plugging materials, and limited control effects, this study designed and synthesized a biomimetic polymer (CTPAM) with strong cohesion and adhesion properties based on the principle of mussel biomimetics. The molecular weight distribution of the polymer is relatively narrow. CTPAM exhibits significant advantages under high temperature aging of 110°C for 150 days and high salt mineralization of 29,000 mg L −1 , with a viscosity retention rate of 64.6% significantly higher than traditional polyacrylamide (HPAM), and a viscosity recovery rate of 71.5% after high shear of 3000 s −1 , which is 1.7 times that of HPAM. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) analysis shows that the adsorption thickness of CTPAM on mica surface is 576 ± 10 nm, which is 2.3 times that of HPAM, attributed to its multiple supramolecular interactions. Application evaluation shows that the dynamic adsorption capacity of CTPAM based self-grown gel dispersion in formation water environment, Δ f = −36 Hz, is significantly higher than that of ordinary systems.
