Flexible pressure sensor array has attracted much attention in wearable electronics , but still lacks self-power, high resolution, large-area fabrication, and low crosstalk . Herein, we present a self-powered pressure sensor array via patterned piezoelectric polyvinylidene fluoride-trifluoroethylene (PVDF-TrFE) nanofibrous. The PVDF-TrFE nanofibers were collected by patterned metal ground electrodes that isolated each piezoelectric cell. The isolated sensing cells can effectively reduce the crosstalk caused by additional deformation. The potential from individual cell is detected through the row+column electrode configuration to determine the corresponding pressure point and trajectory information. The as-fabricated pressure sensor array showed an excellent linear piezoelectric response (2.5 mV/kPa), a fast response time (5 ms), and good repeatability (25,000 cycles). Furthermore, our piezoelectric devices with constructed PVDF-TrFE layer are feasible in scaling up to a large-area sensor array. Accurate recognitions of the letter "h" trajectory tracking and tactile sensation by our self-powered tactile sensor array show potential applications in electronic skin and artificial intelligence.

This study has developed a pressure sensor array based on four functionalized DNA-nanoenzymes with catalase-like activity for multiple detections of foodborne pathogens through a portable pressure manometer. Benefiting from functionalization of 4-mercaptophenylboronic acid and β-mercaptoethylamine, the diversity of nonspecific interactions between four DNA-nanoenzymes and each of the nine bacteria leads to differences in pressure response patterns by catalyzing H2O2 to generate exclusive “fingerprints”. As effective statistical tools for processing multivariate data, principal component analysis and hierarchical clustering analysis are employed to identify nine foodborne pathogens by analyzing pressure response patterns. Furthermore, the as-prepared sensor array can discriminate different mixtures of bacteria and achieve quantitative detection, with an average detection limit of 102 and 104 CFU mL–1 for Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, respectively, demonstrating its desirable practicality and satisfactory accuracy for real sample detection. This study expands insights into multiple analyses of foodborne pathogens for food safety monitoring.

Reliable, non-invasive, continuous monitoring of pulse and blood pressure is essential for the prevention and diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases. However, the pulse wave varies drastically among individuals or even over time in the same individual, presenting significant challenges for the existing pulse sensing systems. Inspired by pulse diagnosis methods in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), this work reports a self-adaptive pressure sensing platform (PSP) that combines the fully printed flexible pressure sensor array with an adaptive wristband-style pressure system can identify the optimal pulse signal. Besides the detected pulse rate/width/length, “Cun, Guan, Chi” position, and “floating, moderate, sinking” pulse features, the PSP combined with a machine learning-based linear regression model can also accurately predict blood pressure such as systolic, diastolic, and mean arterial pressure values. The developed diagnostic platform is demonstrated for highly reliable long-term monitoring and analysis of pulse and blood pressure across multiple human subjects over time. The design concept and proof-of-the-concept demonstrations also pave the way for the future developments of flexible sensing devices/systems for adaptive individualized monitoring in the complex practical environments for personalized medicine, along with the support for the development of digital TCM.

Total Hip Replacement (THR) surgery has achieved significant success in alleviating pain from hip joint diseases and improving patients’ quality of life. However, the challenge of precisely placing the acetabular implant during surgery can lead to complications such as early loosening and wear of the implant. Traditionally, this critical step relies on the surgeon’s experience and subjective judgment, lacking objective tools to monitor the pressure field within the acetabulum in real-time. This study presents the development of a highly sensitive micro-pyramid flexible sensor array, fabricated using micro-fine photolithography precision molding technology, for assisting pressure field monitoring in the acetabulum during THR. The compression of the pyramid microstructure results in large changes in contact area, allowing our single sensor to exhibit an ultra-high sensitivity of 11711.95 kPa⁻¹ within the 0-90 kPa pressure range, with a response/recovery time of 120 ms/81 ms. Six independent sensors were integrated into a customized acetabular implant model, enabling the collection of pressure field data from the acetabulum. To simulate the surgical process, we modified the test platform, developed corresponding signal acquisition circuits, and a software system for real-time visualization of pressure distribution in the acetabulum, demonstrating the potential application of this system in assisting surgeons in precisely placing implants during THR surgery.
