A series of novel fluoroether-containing monomers has been designed and prepared based on the commercially available perfluoroalkyl ether acid fluoride. Treating acid fluoride with allyl alcohol, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate or N -allylmethylamine allowed for the direct formation of corresponding vinyl-containing fluorinated monomers. High yields of the fluorinated epoxy monomers could be obtained from acid chloride with glycidol; meanwhile, fluorinated diol was prepared from diethanolamine or 3-amino-1,2-propanediol. Moreover, fluorinated monoamine, fluorinated monoalcohol and fluorinated dichloride were also obtained. Most of these fluorinated monomers were liquid at room temperature and exhibited good solubility in common organic solvents.

The conductive fiber is a vital component for wearable devices to accurately monitor the health state of humans. However, the fabrication of flexible fiber-based sensors with high sensitivity still remains a challenge. Herein, we designed a wearable sensor based on fluorine-containing polyimide (PI) nanofiber coated with poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): poly(styrene sulfonic acid) (PEDOT:PSS) composites that derived from fluffy and multilayer PI nanofibrous aerogels. The performance of PI nanofibrous aerogels sensors can be properly adjusted by changing the relative proportion of hydrophilic and hydrophobic molecular units in molecular chains. The as-prepared sensors can accurately identify different states (normal breathing, deep breathing, rapid breathing, etc.) for respiratory monitoring. In particular, the fabricated sensor can realize effective detection of tiny humidity on the surface of human skin, and the longest detection distance can reach 3.5 cm. This work offers an insightful chemical strategy to design wearable moisture-sensitive sensors to realize human motion recognition, exercise status, and undisturbed respiratory monitoring.
A series of fluorine-containing UV-curable prepolymers is synthesized to prepare fluorine-containing lotus-like biomimetic films through UV nanoimprint lithography technique. Because of the combination of low-surface energy fluorine element and micro-nano biomimetic structure, the UV-cured films exhibit excellent superhydrophobicity and the maximum water contact angle of 172° is obtained. The prepared biomimetic superhydrophobic film is still robust even under dynamic condition; during the water dropping test, the water droplet can bounce ≈10 mm from the surface after dropping from a height of 25 mm. In addition, due to the excellent superhydrophobicity and superoleophilicity, the oil can spread rapidly after dropping on the obtained superhydrophobic surface and then highly efficient high oil–water separation ability can be achieved, which provides for high potential application on oil–water separation membranes. Furthermore, the biomimetic superhydrophobic films also show obvious anti-bioadhesion, the adhered cell number on fluorine-containing biomimetic surface is just ≈9% (the minimum value) of that on non-fluorine non-biomimetic surface.
