An imidazolium ionic-liquid-modified phenolic resin (ILPR) was synthesized using 3-aminophenol as a functional monomer, glyoxylic acid as a green cross-linker, and polyethylene glycol 6000 as a porogen. The obtained ILPR showed better extraction of benzoylurea plant hormones thidiazuron and forchlorfenuron than the unmodified phenolic resin because the imidazolium IL provides more interaction modes with the analytes. ILPR, as a tailored adsorbent for solid-phase extraction, was coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography (ILPR‒SPE‒HPLC) for the simultaneous determination of thidiazuron and forchlorfenuron in cucumbers. Good linearity of the ILPR‒SPE‒HPLC method was obtained, ranging from 0.0100 to 5.00 μg g −1 with a correlation coefficient ( r ) ≥ 0.9999. The recoveries of spiked samples ranged from 91.4% to 100.7% with a relative standard deviation of ≤ 6.0%.

Spraying of defoliant can promote centralized defoliation of cotton and advance maturity to facilitate harvesting. Modern pesticide application equipment includes plant protection unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), which are used widely for spraying defoliants. However, commonly used defoliant formulations are mainly suspension concentrates and water-dispersible granules, which need to be diluted with water when used. These are not suitable for plant protection UAVs with limited load capacity, especially in arid areas such as Xinjiang, China. Therefore, we prepared a thidiazuron·diuron ultra-low-volume (ULV) spray, which can be used directly without dilution in water. We found that ULV sprays had better wettability than the commercially available suspension concentrate, could quickly wet cotton leaves and spread fully. The volatilization rate was lower. ULV sprays also showed better atomization performance and more uniform droplet distribution than the commercially available suspension concentrate. At a dosage of 4.50–9.00 L/ha, the coverage rate on cotton leaves was 0.85–4.15% and droplet deposition densities were 15.63–42.57 pcs/cm 2 ; defoliation rate and spitting rate were also greater than those of the reference product. This study could be contributed to the development of special pesticide formulations suitable for UAVs.

This study presents a novel electrochemical strategy for detecting organophosphorus pesticides based on the synergistic catalytic of red kidney bean esterase (RKBE) and iron–cobalt dual-atom catalyst embedded in N-doped carbon carrier (FeCo–NC). RKBE was extracted from the widely cultivated British red kidney beans ( Phaseolus vulgaris L.) . FeCo–NC exhibited excellent electrocatalytic and peroxidase-like activity, catalyzing o -phenylenediamine oxidation to produce electroactive 2,3-diaminophenazine, which served as signal probe generating a sensitive cathodic current. Notably, RKBE product 1-naphthol inhibited FeCo–NC activity, while organophosphorus pesticides counteracted this inhibition by suppressing RKBE activity, restoring the electrochemical signal of 2,3-diaminophenazine. Leveraging this signal-regulation mechanism, a dichlorvos sensor was developed, with wide linear range (50–50,000 pM), low detection limit (14 pM), and excellent real-sample recovery (93.33%–107.08%), demonstrating practical application potential. This study provides an affordable and easy-to-operate approach for large-scale on-site monitoring of organophosphorus pesticide residues in foods.

Acetamiprid (ACE) can accumulate in the environment through the food chain, potentially endanger human health. In this experiment, zinc‑cobalt bimetallic metal organic framework (Zn/Co MOF) was synthesized and used to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for the removal of ACE from water. The degradation efficiency of ACE could achieve approximately 96.93% after 90 min. Through the synergistic effect of Zn and Co bimetallic sites, ACE was degraded via a Fenton-like reaction, while reactive oxygen species (SO 4 ·- , ·OH, O 2 ·- , and 1 O 2 ) participated in the process. The high catalytic activity of Zn/Co MOF led to the degradation of ACE through the formation of a series of low-toxicity intermediates, and partial mineralization to CO 2 and H 2 O. In addition, Zn/Co MOF remained effective under broad pH conditions (pH 5–11) and temperatures (5–45 °C). This system had excellent degradation effects in actual water, with degradation rates of 95.42% and 95.18% after 90 min in the Pai River and Liren Lake, respectively. With its high catalytic performance, the Zn/Co MOF is expected to become an ideal catalyst that could be used to remove pesticide residues in water.
