Oral absorption of carrier-free self-assembly nanoplatform was limited by mucus barrier, p-gp efflux and liver metabolism. In this study, Pip-Cur-TA nanoparticle were constructed by co-assembly of tannic acid, curcumin and piperine via inter-molecular hydrogen-bonded and π-π interaction to improve the oral chemotherapy. The optimized Pip-Cur-TA nanoparticle showed an average diameter of 60 nm with a drug encapsulation efficiency of 67.02 % and loading capacity of 61.37 %. Pip-Cur-TA nanoparticles showed pH-dependent drug release, mucosal adhesion, inhibition of p-gp and liver metabolism and improved membrane permeability. Oral Pip-Cur-TA nanoparticle produced high oral delivery efficiency and relative oral bioavailability of 12.84 % in rats, and further showed significant tumor inhibition on PC-3 tumor cells. These findings confirmed that Pip-Cur-TA nanoparticle might be a promising oral drug formulation for chemotherapy.

Overweight and obesity are the causes of many diseases and have become global “epidemics”. Research on natural active components with anti-adipogenesis effects in plants has aroused the interest of researchers. One of the most critical problems is establishing sample preparation and analytical techniques for quickly and selectively extracting and determining the active anti-adipogenesis components in complex plant matrices for developing new anti-adipogenic drugs. In this study, a new poly(deep eutectic solvents) surface imprinted graphene oxide composite (PDESs-MIP/GO) with high selectivity for phenolic acids was prepared using deep eutectic solvents as monomers and crosslinkers. A miniaturized centrifugation-accelerated pipette-tip matrix solid-phase dispersion method (CPT-MSPD) with PDESs-MIP/GO as adsorbent, coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography, was further developed for the rapid determination of anti-adipogenesis markers in Solidago decurrens Lour. (SDL). The established method was successfully used to determination anti-adipogenesis markers in SDL from different regions, with the advantages of accuracy (recoveries: 94.4 − 115.9 %, RSDs ≤ 9.8 %), speed (CPT-MSPD time: 11 min), selectivity (imprinting factor: ∼2.0), and economy (2 mg of adsorbent and 1 mL of solvents), which is in line with the current advanced principle of “3S+2A” in analytical chemistry.
Polyamide thin-film composite (TFC) membranes present a promising option for organic solvent nanofiltration (OSN) due to their superior advantages in facile fabrication and high separation efficiency. However, existing TFC-based OSN membranes are heavily limited by their weak interfacial stability in organic solvents, because many solvent-resistant porous supports are hydrophobic and have poor interfacial compatibility to polyamide. Herein, we report a polyamide TFC membrane with enhanced interfacial stability and durable OSN performance, by multifunctional surface modification and in-situ interfacial polymerization on a hydrophobic and solvent-resistant polypropylene substrate. Distinct from nascent ones, the polypropylene substrates modified by tannic acid/aminopropyltriethoxysilane coating possess excellent hydrophilicity and more functional groups, in which the former allows for the in-situ synthesis of integral polyamide layers via interfacial polymerization and the latter greatly enhances the binding strength between the polyamide layer and PP substrate by 30 times. With this method, the TFC membranes exhibit excellent thermal stability in 80 °C dimethylformamide solution. Meanwhile, the TFC membranes display high ethanol permeance (9.2 L m −2 h −1 bar −1 ) and acid fuchsin rejection (98.5 %), outperforming the performance of most OSN membranes reported. This straightforward method, robust structural stability, and extraordinary performance make the TFC membranes a step closer to commercial OSN membranes.
