In this work, a three-dimensional fluorinated covalent organic frameworks (3D FCOFs) JUC-515 was synthesized from tetra(4-aminophenyl)methane (TAM) and 2,3,5,6-tetrafluoroterephthalol (TFA) by an ionic liquid method. JUC-515 was introduced into the capillary column and bonded to the inner wall of the capillary column by chemical bonding. Through a variety of characterization results, JUC-515 was successfully synthesized and introduced into the capillary column. The effects of buffer solution concentration, organic additive content and pH of the buffer solution on the separation of fluoroquinolones (FQs) were investigated in detail. The JUC-515-coated capillary column showed good resolution (>1.5) and reproducibility. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) of the retention time for intraday, interday, column-to-column and interbatch precision were less than 0.88%, 2.45%, 2.74% and 3.32%, respectively. The RSDs of the peak area for intraday, interday, column-to-column and interbatch precision were less than 3.79%, 4.31%, 3.33% and 5.62%, respectively. The JUC-515-coated capillary column could be used no less than 150 times. The results showed that the JUC-515-coated capillary column had good separation performance. In addition, by separating fluorinated β -phenylalanine analogs, β -phenylalanine and trifluoromethyl β -phenylalanine analogs, the separation mechanism based on fluorine interactions was discussed. In conclusion, JUC-515 had good potential as a stationary phase for capillary electrochromatography.
High-resolution 1 H nuclear magnetic resonance ( 1 H NMR ) was advanced to determine both epoxy value and iodine value ( IV ) of vegetable oils that occur during their epoxidation. For calibration, rather than using a series of diluted stock samples, epoxidized soybean oils with a range of IV and epoxy value synthesized using entrapped peroxophosphotungstate as the catalyst under different reaction conditions were used. During the epoxidation reaction, IV and epoxy value were tracked with respect to time using 1 H NMR and conventional volumetric methods. The integrated peak area of the olefinic hydrogens (5.3–5.5 ppm) was used to calculate the absolute number of double-bonded protons. By comparison of IV obtained by 1 H NMR and the traditional Wijs-cyclohexane methods, the correlation coefficient was R 2 = 0.9997 for the regression equation y = 1.1314 x + 1.0035, where x was the result given by 1 H NMR. The average integrated peak areas related to the hydrogens of the epoxide groups located at chemical shifts of 2.9 ppm (monoepoxide) and 3.1 ppm (diepoxide) were used to determine the epoxy value. The quantification of the number of epoxides was carried out by 1 H NMR and the values obtained were correlated with epoxide content determined by the hydrochloric acid/acetone method. As a consequence, the correlation coefficient was R 2 = 0.9991 for the regression equation y = 0.0052 x + 1.7258, where x was the average integrated peak areas related to the hydrogens of the epoxide groups by 1 H NMR. The novelty of our study lies in the simultaneous correlation between IV and epoxy value obtained from conventional titrations, the integrated peak area related to olefinic protons, and the average integrated peak area located at the hydrogen of epoxide group, calculated using 1 H NMR. This approach is used to monitor and optimize the epoxidation reaction.
Abstract Current methods for measurement of unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine (UDMH) in wastewater suffer from a small detection range and complex pretreatment. In this study, ion chromatography (IC) with conductivity detection was used to directly analyze UDMH in wastewater, without any derivatization pretreatment, and the measurement range was as wide as 0.5–1000 μg·mL −1 . The effects of column temperature and sample pH on the detection were investigated. Furthermore, the chromatography conditions were optimized by combining the effects of different combinations of nitric acid, 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid (PDCA), and methanesulfonic acid (MSA) on the analysis of mixed samples of UDMH and alkali metal ions. The linearity of the detected peak height ( H ) and peak area ( A ) versus UDMH concentration was studied at low, medium, and high concentrations. A good linear relationship was observed in the range of 0.5–1000 μg·mL −1 , especially for A , the relative standard deviation (RSD) and correlation coefficient ( R 2 ) of which were 0.077–1.653% and 0.9998–1.0000, respectively. In addition, the method showed good sensitivity with a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.05 μg·mL −1 and a limit of quantitation (LOQ) of 0.16 μg mL −1 . The precision and accuracy (expressed by recovery) were verified, where the RSD were less than 1.49% and 3.17%. Interference between hydrazines and alkali metal ions was discussed. Finally, actual UDMH samples were determined, confirming the applicability of the developed method for analyzing UDMH in wastewater during the degradation process. Graphic Abstract
