Because of the extraordinary properties including high atomic numbers and large μτ products, metal halide perovskites have been widely employed and used for radiation detecting. Cs4PbI6 material has a high X-ray attenuation coefficient and excellent electrical properties that have a good potential in X-ray detection applications. Here, we have designed a flexible polymer-encapsulated Au/Cs4PbI6/Au X-ray detector with outstanding sensitivity of 256.20 μC Gy–1 cm–2 irradiated by 30 keV X-ray at 10 V bias, long-time stability, and durable flexibility without obvious degradation after bending for 600 cycles. These features demonstrate that this polymer-encapsulated durable flexible and sensitive X-ray detector could open a new possibility for next-generation radiation applications in dosimeter, imaging technologies.
Encapsulation is a crucial technology for isolating and protecting moisture-sensitive materials. However, traditional organic-inorganic composite films often exhibit poor adhesion at the interface and high gas permeability, making stable operation difficult. In this work, an enhanced atomic layer deposition (EALD) method was used to uniformly deposit a layer of thickness-controlled alumina on a Polyethylene Naphthalate (PEN) film with oxygen-containing polar groups(CTPEN) on its surface, successfully producing a high-barrier composite film (EALD-Al 2 O 3 /CTPEN) with Al-O-C chemical bonds. The designed CTPEN film significantly enhanced the adhesion of alumina, thereby improving the performance of the composite film. Moreover, the mechanical properties of the composite film were significantly enhanced, with the elongation at break of EALD-Al 2 O 3 /CTPEN at 72 % being considerably higher than that of ALD-Al 2 O 3 /PEN at 44 %, and the tensile strength reaching 220 MPa. At the same time, EALD-Al 2 O 3 /CTPEN maintained excellent light transmission, exceeding 85 %. Humidity -sensitive resistors encapsulated with EALD-Al 2 O 3 /CTPEN exhibited stable operating performance in both air and humidity-sensitive environments, confirming the superior barrier properties of the composite film. This EALD-Al 2 O 3 /CTPEN composite layer holds promise as a prospective encapsulation layer for future flexible devices.
Flexible encapsulation of polyoxometalates (POMs) into metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) is a promising and emerging research area. Herein, a novel non-homogeneous IL(CoMo 6 )-MIL-101-NH 2 catalyst was prepared by a stepwise modification method, in which the unprecedentedly flexible encapsulation of POM-MOF catalyst was achieved through ion exchange of introducing (NH 4 ) 3 H 6 CoMo 6 O 24 into IL(Br)-MIL-101-NH 2 . This approach firmly encases the POM within the pores of MIL-101 through electrostatic interactions. It not only preserved the catalytic activity of POM, but also provided sufficient space for the reaction to occur. The IL(CoMo 6 )-MIL-101-NH 2 catalyst retained a high similar activity to homogeneous catalyst, while possessing characteristics of a multiphase catalyst for easy separation and recovery. It tackles POM's solubility issue and enables its encapsulation in MOFs for heterogeneous catalysis. Furthermore, the unparalleled catalyst was utilized in a biomimetic approach for coupling with deep eutectic solvents to achieve ultra-deep aerobic oxidative desulfurization of diesel.
