Band engineering has garnered significant attention for its role in tailoring the band structures of g-C3N4, which is crucial for enhancing the light collection and conversion processes. In this paper, a novel visible-light-driven g-C3N4 was synthesized by a simple and efficient thermal polymerization method, and the morphology and bandgap were modulated by incorporating a high electronegativity oxygen element (O). Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), etc., were applied to analyze the morphology and chemical structure of the samples and the photogenerated charges separation performance was also investigated by ultraviolet–visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV–vis DRS), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), etc. Besides, tetracycline (TC) photodegradation efficiency was tested, and the results show that the reaction rate constant and removal rate of MG0.002 are 0.0933 min–1 and 81.6% (within 60 min), and the recyclability and adaptability are excellent. Moreover, the mechanism of O regulatory was studied by element analyzer (EA) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and the results indicate that sp2-hybridized N atoms are preferentially replaced by O atoms in the MG0.02 structure. Finally, the TC degradation enhancement mechanism was investigated and the results indicated that the electrons were redistributed due to the influence of high electronegativity oxygen, which can not only generate midgap states and promote the visible light absorption, but also realize the effective transfer and separation of photogenerated carriers, thus significantly improving the photocatalytic activity.

Solid-state sodium metal batteries utilizing inorganic solid electrolytes (SEs) hold immense potentials such as intrinsical safety, high energy density, and environmental sustainability. However, the interfacial inhomogeneity/instability at the anode-SE interface usually triggers the penetration of sodium dendrites into the electrolyte, leading to short circuit and battery failure. Herein, confronting with the original nonuniform and high-resistance solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) at the Na-Na 3 Zr 2 Si 2 PO 12 interface, an oxygen-regulated SEI innovative approach is proposed to enhance the cycling stability of anode-SEs interface, through a spontaneous reaction between the metallic sodium (containing trace amounts of oxygen) and the Na 3 Zr 2 Si 2 PO 12 SE. The oxygen-regulated spontaneous SEI is thin, uniform, and kinetically stable to facilitate homogenous interfacial Na + transportation. Benefitting from the optimized SEI, the assembled symmetric cell exhibits an ultra-stable sodium plating/stripping cycle for over 6600 h under a practical capacity of 3 mAh cm −2 . Quasi-solid-state batteries with Na 3 V 2 (PO 4 ) 3 cathode deliver excellent cyclability over 500 cycles at a rate of 0.5 C (1 C = 117 mA cm −2 ) with a high capacity retention of 95.4%. This oxygen-regulated SEI strategy may offer a potential avenue for the future development of high-energy-density solid-state metal batteries.

CO 2 -to-hydrocarbon fuel conversion via artificial photosynthesis is limited by catalyst poisoning under high O 2 partial pressures and sluggish C 2 -product formation. Herein, Ru 0.6 Cu 1 (Cu 0 –Cu 1+ )/CeO 2 catalysts with adaptive O 2 tolerance are prepared by O 2 -mediated dynamic interfacial reconstruction. Single-atom Ru doping at Ce lattice sites creates a trigonal prismatic coordination configuration, enabling proton-coupled electron transfer and accelerating H 2 O dissociation. Photothermal effect promotes O 2 -driven self-assembly of Cu 0 –Cu 1+ charge-gradient interfaces within Ru/Cu alloy clusters, thereby optimizing the adsorption behavior of * CHOCO intermediates and restructuring the C–C coupling pathway. Interfacial charge cascade transfer and geometric site synergy thermodynamically shift the product selectivity from C 1 to C 2 , as determined by operando spectroscopy and electronic structure analysis. Under concentrated solar irradiation, the catalyst produces 549 ± 20 μmol·g −1 C 2 H 4 with 74.3% selectivity and 0.5% solar-to-chemical energy conversion efficiency—25-fold higher than that in non-concentrated systems. Dynamic interfacial regulation facilitates precise carbon chain synthesis in complex reaction networks.

The transformation of O 2 is primarily facilitated by the catalytic action of redox enzymes, which play a pivotal role in sustaining cellular energy metabolism and redox balance. Bioinspired by O 2 distribution and ROS regulation related to cascade biocatalytic process, a D-peptide NapG D F D F D Y engineered hydrogel has been constructed with encapsulated dual-enzyme superoxide (SOD) and chloroperoxidase (CPO) cascade catalytic circuit and co-assembled photosensitizer of 5-aminolevulinic acid molecules (ALA). Multimodal oxygen modulation has been conducted by the concurrent oxygen generation via SOD-catalyzed ⋅O 2 − dismutation and oxygen consumption for 1 O 2 production by CPO and ALA, achieving self-sustaining enzymatic dynamic therapy (EDT)-photodynamic therapy (PDT) (EDT-PDT) synergy. The endogenous cascade-amplified EDT not only enhances the 1 O 2 efficacy in exogenous PDT therapy, but the intermediate O 2 can also alleviate local neuropathic pain caused by hypoxia for safe PDT treatment. This work pioneers enzyme-mediated dynamic control of tumor redox homeostasis, establishing a new therapeutic axis between biocatalytic amplification and photodynamic processes.

Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) persist due to excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS), infection, and poor angiogenesis. We engineered an injectable guar gum hydrogel (AuCu-Arg/Gel) embedding gold/copper nanozymes (Au@Cu₂(OH)₃Cl– L -Arg) to address these barriers synergistically. The nanozymes display cascade-mimicking peroxidase, superoxide dismutase, and catalase activities to rebalance ROS. In the acidic, bacteria-laden niche, peroxidase-like activity is switched on, generating hydroxyl radicals (•OH) and driving bacterial viability to < 1 %. Concurrently, the ROS-rich milieu triggers nitric oxide (NO) release from L -arginine (2.93 μM in 10 min), upregulating VEGF and neovascularization. Mild near-infrared (NIR) photothermal heating (1.5 W cm⁻², 5 min) increased the apparent POD-like initial rate 1.94-fold vs no-NIR (see Fig. 2 A). without tissue injury. In diabetic rats, AuCu-Arg/Gel plus NIR accelerated wound closure, dampened inflammation, and increased collagen deposition and vascular density. The results confirmed day-12 residual wound areas to 2.1 % (AuCu-Arg/Gel + NIR). This spatiotemporally programmable platform integrates ROS modulation, on-demand antibacterial action, NO gas therapy, and photothermal enhancement for chronic wound management.

Novel strategy is urgently needed to overcome the bacterial infection all over the world due to unreasonable use of biotics. In recent years, nanozymes have attracted great interests of researchers for their high catalytic efficiency and biocompatibility. In this study, a novel multiple enzyme-mimic polypeptide-based carbon nanoparticle was synthesized by N-carboxyanhydride mediated ring opening polymerization (ROP) and Fe coordination for actualizing ROS regulation and photo-thermal therapy. The multiple enzyme-mimic activities of the nanozyme, such as peroxidase, oxidase, catalase, and glutathione peroxidase, were detailly explored in ROS regulation for potential utilization in bacterial inhibition. The photo-thermal effect of the nanozyme was investigated under 808 nm NIR irradiation. Enhanced inhibition rate of the as prepared nanozyme was observed against Gram-negative Escherichia coli (99.03 %) and Gram positive Staphylococcus aureus (99.78 %) planktonic bacteria. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus ( MRSA ) was chosen as the drug resistant bacteria model to evaluate the efficiency in bacterial biofilm disruption. Improved healing efficacy of 99.05 % against MRSA wound infection and excellent biosafety were observed in mice model experiments for the as prepared nanozyme. In conclusion, the as synthesized nanozyme with ROS regulation, enhanced bacteria inhibition, and excellent biocompatibility could be potentially applied in clinic against bacterial infection.
