A novel electrochemical sensor MIP/AuNPs/GCE was developed by depositing gold nanoparticles and electropolymerizing molecularly imprinted film on the surface of glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for highly sensitive detection of neutral phosmet residues in fruits and vegetables. Scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were used to characterize the imprinted sensor. The results showed that the imprinted film on GCE was evenly prepared with better specific recognition of phosmet on MIP/AuNPs/GCE than that on bare GCE. Several parameters including deposition time, functional monomer and its molar ratio, scanning cycles, and elution time were optimized in detail. The linear range of the MIP/AuNPs/GCE prepared in this work was 0.020–4.0 nmol/L with limit of detection of 0.010 nmol/L, which was much lower than MIP/GCE (0.17 nmol/L). The identification mechanism of MIP/AuNPs/GCE for phosmet was also confirmed as adsorption-diffusion model with effective surface area increasing after mediated by AuNPs. Selectivity, reproducibility and repeatability of the MIP/AuNPs/GCE were acceptable. The recovery of applying the sensor to detect PM in real samples ranged from 91.40 % to 107.3 %, which agreed well with those of HPLC. The method of developing MIP/AuNPs/GCE sensor herein could be extended to detecting other neutral pesticide residues in food and environment.

Zn powder (Zn-P)-based anodes are considered ideal candidates for Zn-based batteries because they enable a positive synergistic integration of safety and energy density. However, Zn-P-based anodes still experience easy corrosion, uncontrolled dendrite growth, and poor mechanical strength, which restrict their further application. Herein, a mixed ionic-electronic conducting scaffold is introduced into Zn-P to successfully fabricate anti-corrosive, flexible, and dendrite-free Zn anodes using a scalable tape-casting strategy. The as-established scaffold is characterized by robust flexibility, facile scale-up synthesis methodology, and exceptional anti-corrosive characteristics, and it can effectively homogenize the Zn 2+ flux during Zn plating/stripping, thus allowing stable Zn cycling. Benefiting from these comprehensive attributes, the as-prepared Zn-P-based anode provides superior electrochemical performance, including long-life cycling stability and high rate capability in practical coin and flexible pouch cells; thus, it holds great potential for developing advanced Zn-ion batteries. The findings of this study provide insights for a promising scalable pathway to fabricate highly efficient and reliable Zn-based anodes and will aid in the realization of advanced flexible energy-storage devices.

Seeking highly efficient non-preference electrocatalytic materials that serve photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting in acidic systems is expectant in the context of environmentally friendly production. We designed Ni2P electrocatalysts synthesized in oil phases via the hot-bubbling method with superb stability in air and sulfuric acid solution for PEC, which were found with excellent hydrogen evolution performance. A tunable particle size and highly exposed (001) planes of Ni2P nanocrystals were achieved. The designed catalysts achieved a notable promotion in the hydrogen evolution reaction activity compared to that of Ni2P synthesized in the water phase. More specifically, the electrode prepared by self-assembled Ni2P nanoparticles was found to have decent over-potential of η10 = 164 mV in darkness and was further decreased to 129 mV with irradiation of visible light. The cyclic stability tests manifested brilliant durability in 0.5 M H2SO4. Measurement of the transient photocurrent response and PEC water splitting catalytic performance indicated that the Ni2P had high carrier concentration upon irradiation, lower carrier recombination probability, and prolonged photo-response lifetime (3.03–3.14 s).
