Graphical A ploy(1,3-dioxolane) (PDOL) layer was constructed by a Al(OTf) 3 -induced in-situ solidification process between the interface of LATP and anode/cathode. The as-prepared PDOL as an “interfacial adhesive” can fill the gap between the LATP and the electrode, providing a better interfacial contact and reduced interfacial impedance. Such interfacial adhesive layer not only effectively prevents Li metal from reducing LATP but also provides intimate interface contact and limits unnecessary electron transport. Li 1.3 Al 0.3 Ti 1.7 (PO 4 ) 3 (LATP) as the solid-electrolyte has attracted much attention for Li-ion batteries. However, the unstable LATP/Li interface and the insufficient contact between the anode/cathode and LATP usually lead to the structural collapse of LATP and the large solid–solid interfacial resistance for Li+ transport. Herein, a poly(1,3-dioxolane) (PDOL) adhesive layer was constructed by a Al(OTf) 3 -induced in-situ solidification process between the interface of LATP and anode/cathode. Such PDOL interfacial adhesive layer alleviates adverse reduction reactions at the LATP/Li interface and provides stable and well-contacted bilateral electrode interfaces. Benefitting from the PDOL interfacial adhesive, the Li|adhesive-LATP|Li symmetric cells achieve a current density up to 0.7 mA cm −2 and exhibit a good cycling stability for more than 2750 h at 0.1 mA cm −2 , and the Li|adhesive-LATP|LiFePO4 solid-state batteries with interface modification exhibit a capacity of 158 mAh g −1 at 0.2 C with a retention of 94 % after 100 cycles.

In this work, the peel of hydrogels under a stiff backing constraint was studied using a finite element method. The finite element method was first validated by comparing the simulation results to theoretical predictions and experimental measurements. Then, the method was used to investigate the effects of adhesion thickness, adhesion length and backing thickness on the peel behaviors, as well as the stress distribution within the adhesion layer. The results indicated that the peel force–displacement curve has a constant profile when the adhesion thickness and backing thickness are prescribed so long as the adhesion length is sufficiently long. The peak peel force increases with the adhesion length and then plateaus. The larger the intrinsic peak stress or the thicker the backing, the higher the plateau. The steady-state peel force is independent of the backing thickness, while positively correlated with the strain energy storage of the hydrogel adhesion layer. The critical vertical displacement corresponding to the peak peel force increases with the hydrogel thickness and decreases with the backing thickness. However, the critical vertical displacement corresponding to the steady-state peel force increases with the backing thickness. The present work puts forward an effective numerical approach to probe the peel of hydrogels, which is beneficial for the design of relevant structures.

Continuous monitoring of cardiovascular vital signs can reduce the incidence and mortality of cardiovascular diseases, yet cannot be implemented by current technologies because of device bulkiness and rigidity. Here, we report self-adhesive and skin-conformal ultrasonic transducer arrays that enable wearable monitoring of multiple hemodynamic parameters without interfering with daily activities. A skin-adaptive focused ultrasound method with rational array design is proposed to implement measurement under wide ranges of skin curvatures and depths with improved sensing performances. We introduce a self-adhesive hydrogel layer to enhance the acoustic impedance matching, biocompatibility and contact reliability at device-skin interfaces, and a microelectromechanical systems-compatible process for batch-to-batch and high-consistency manufacturing. The resultant transducer array, with a frequency of 2.4 megacycles per second and a –6 dB bandwidth of 47%, implements accurate and continuous detection of cardiovascular signs, including blood pressure (BP) waveforms of various arteries, heart rate and BP during exercises, and arterial stiffness, validated clinically.
