The conductive hydrogels always suffered from high internal friction, large hysteresis, and low capability of accurately predicting physical deformation, which seriously restricted their application in smart wearable devices. To address these problems, solvent molecules are directionally inserted into the polymer molecule chains via bridge effect to effectively reduce the molecular internal friction. Moreover, swelling is also combined to eliminate the temporary entanglements in the hydrogel system. The cooperation between the bridge and swollen effect endows the prepared polyacrylamide (PAM)/laponite/H 3 BO 3 /ethylene glycol (Eg) organohydrogel (PLBOH) ultralow hysteresis (1.38%, ε = 100%), ultrafast response (≈10 ms), and high linearity in the whole-strain-range ( R 2 = 0.996) with a great sensitivity ( GF = 2.68 at the strain range of 0–750%). Meanwhile, the prepared PL 10 B 30 OH exhibits long-term stability, excellent stretchability, and low dissipated energy. Furthermore, the assembled triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) displays an outstanding energy harvesting performance with an output voltage of 200 V with the size of 20 mm × 20 mm. The assembled strain sensors can monitor the small strain of facial expressions and large strain of human movements, indicating the tremendous applications in self-powered intelligent and flexible wearable electronics under harsh environmental conditions.

Flexible and stretchable strain sensors have broad applications in human physiological activities, object deformation, as well as human–machine interface. However, it is still challenging to fabricate stretchable strain sensors with linear and superior piezoresistive signal response. Herein, we report a facile and scalable microstructure design strategy to generate a unique segmental hierarchical fiber-surface structure that mimics an arthropod's body and a lobster's tail structure for achieving linear strain sensing response. The alternate modulus difference of the micro-nanoscale segmental soft (thermoplastic polyurethane, TPU)-hard (polystyrene, PS) configurations enables the initiation of significant strain concentration effect, which is consistent with the finite element analysis, thus allowing to tune the sensing properties, for e.g., the linear degree varies from 0.48 to 0.99 and the gauge factor ranges from 5.25 to 23 800 for the strain within 30%. The bionic structured fiber sensors demonstrate potential applications for the detection of human skin epidermal disturbance, small curvature changes, sound wave vibration, as well as mechanochromic response if a fluorescent agent is added to the TPU core. Besides, they are also capable of detecting various types of organic vapors due to the strain amplification effect heterogeneous structure design, paving a new way for the design of multifunctional flexible sensors for variable human–machine interface applications.

Ferroelectric films with large and linear strains are crucial for precision microactuator applications, especially at high frequencies. However, existing strategies that rely on frequency- and temperature-dependent dynamics have had limited success in enhancing strain response under such conditions. Here, through promoted local strain fluctuation, we achieve an interlocked polar configuration in spin-coated epitaxial (K,Na)NbO 3 -based ferroelectric films. The films demonstrate high-frequency strains exceeding 1.1% with high linearity and stability even when measured at 10 5 Hz. The presence of interlocked monoclinic and tetragonal polar nanoregions boosts piezoelectric response by promoting polarization dynamics across a broad frequency range. Additionally, the interplay between two distinct polarization switching mechanisms, arising from different symmetries and boundary conditions, mutually compensates, contributing to the observed overall linearity. This approach presents a promising yet facile strategy for achieving ferroelectric films with reliable, large and linear strain across a wide high-frequency range.
