The poor light transmittance , low recycling rate and potential secondary pollution problems of powder photocatalysts limit the practical application of photocatalytic technology. Therefore, there is an urgent need to develop stable floating photocatalysts to alleviate the problem of harmful algal blooms (HABs). In this work, a floating Ag 2 MoO 4 /TACN@LF composite was synthesized for the inactivation of Microcystis aeruginosa ( M. aeruginosa ) by employing a simple oscillatory impregnation method. The Ag 2 MoO 4 /TACN@LF floating photocatalyst exhibited stable algae removal performance under various conditions, and 100% chlorophyll a removal rate could be achieved within 4 h of visible light irradiation under the optimal photocatalyst loading of 6 g/L. The effects of Ag 2 MoO 4 /TACN@LF floating catalyst on algal cell membrane permeability, phycobiliprotein, intracellular antioxidant enzyme activities and algal organic matter were further studied. Moreover, the scavenging experiments demonstrated that •OH was the predominant reactive oxygen species (ROSs). Ag0 and 3 g-C 3 N 4 * also made a non-negligible contribution to the inactivation of algal cells. What's more, the Ag 2 MoO 4 /TACN@LF still exhibited 92% inactivation efficiency for M. aeruginosa after 5 cycles reused experiments, indicating its promising potential for practical application of alleviating HABs.
Solar-powered interface evaporation is considered a promising technology to obtain freshwater from non-potable water by using sustainable solar energy. However, research on combining the photocatalytic effect with solar interfacial evaporation technology to go for photothermal conversion materials with full solar spectrum utilization for photothermal and photodegradation capabilities is still scarce. Due to the unique optical properties of MXene, a novel MXene/Ag 3 PO 4 -based membrane with synergistic photothermal and photocatalytic effects was developed from the perspective of practical applications such as water purification, photodegradation of organic dyes and antibacterial properties. In this paper, polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) and carbon black (CB) were used as the substrate, calcium carbonate (CaCO 3 ) and hydrochloric acid (HCl) were selected as the pore-forming agent for hydrophilic modification, and MXene/Ag 3 PO 4 serves as the photocatalyst. The prepared composite polyvinylidene fluoride membrane (PCC-MXene/Ag 3 PO 4 ) with Schottky junction, possesses a rich pore structure, abundant water molecule transport channels, high light absorption ability, and low thermal conductivity, which lead to a good performance in solar interface evaporation, photodegradation and antibacterial. The superhydrophobicity and floatability of the nanosponges in water enable them to continuously pump water, which greatly promotes the dissolution of salt accumulation. With the help of porous nanosponges, PCC-MXene/Ag 3 PO 4 exhibits excellent evaporation stability and salt resistance under 1 kW m −2 solar irradiation, as well as photodegradation of organic dyes. In addition, the PCC-MXene/Ag 3 PO 4 membrane has the properties of self-buoyancy, electrical conductivity, and superior flexibility. Therefore, considering the simple preparation method and fine performances, the PCC-MXene/Ag 3 PO 4 mixed membrane has great application potential in the study of interface evaporation, photodegradation of organic dyes, and antibacterial properties.

Tetraethyl ortho-silicate (TEOS) and octadecyl 2-((3-(triethoxysilyl) propyl) amino) acetate (SP) are used as modification agents at the ratios of 1:5, 1:1, 4:1 and 1:0 of TEOS: SP to form the silica by sol-gel process. Silica in both liquid form as well as powder forms at different compositions by weight percent have been subjected to the photo-polymerization with polyethylene glycol diacrylate (PEGDA) in the presence of photo initiator (2- hydroxyl − 2–methyl – 1- phenyl −1–prop none (1173)). FTIR study is performed to identify various functional groups in the prepared materials, whereas, TEM and SEM are conducted to investigate particle size and surface morphology respectively. Moreover, transition glass temperature, storage and loss modulus are reported via DMA. The results indicated that TEOS: SP ratio has proved to be highly significant, among them 1:5 ratio is the most beneficial in terms of yielding maximum self-floating, hydrophobicity and roughness with minimum glossy nature of silica.
