The size- and shape-controlled Fe3O4@SiO2 nanocomposites were successfully synthesized via the sol–gel method. The results showed that the size, shape, and property of the products were directly influenced by the amount of TEOS, and the concentration
of water-based magnetic fluid in the coating process. The morphology and properties of the products were characterized by TEM, SEM, X-ray powder diffraction, IR and EDS. The Fe3O4@SiO2 composites with easily-controlled size arranged from 58 to 835 nm could
be synthesized by adjusting the experimental parameters. When TEOS amount is 1 mL and the concentration of magnetic fluid were 30.0 and 10.0 mg/mL respectively, chain-like and peanuts-like well-dispersed Fe3O4@SiO2 particles with clear core–shell structure
were obtained. These size- and shape-controlled Fe3O4@SiO2 composites may have potential application in the field of targeted drug delivery and MRI contrast agent.

In this work, we develop an effective strategy to synthesize porous peanut-like ZnCo 2 O 4 (ZCO) decorated with graphene/Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as an effective anode material for long cycling life lithium storage via a facile solvothermal process and rapid cold-quenching method. SEM and TEM characterizations show that graphene and CNTs serving as the elastic support and superior conductive network wrap the porous peanut-like ZCO, which can enhance electrochemical performance. The as-prepared ZnCo 2 O 4 /reduce graphene oxide/carbon nanotubes (ZCO/rGO/CNTs) delivers an initial discharge capacity of 1214.1 mAh g −1 at a current density of 500 mA g −1 and exhibits a high discharge capacity (1026.6 mAh g −1 after 200 cycles) when evaluated as anode materials of LIBs. More interestingly, the reversible capacity of the ZCO/rGO/CNTs even retains 728.6 mAh g −1 after 300 cycles even at a high current density of 1000 mA g −1 . The good cycling capability, high rate performance and reliable electrode adaptability suggest that the ZCO/rGO/CNTs will be an attractive material for lithium ion batteries.

The development of novel, highly efficient, and stable photocatalysts remains a formidable task. Herein, novel peanut-shaped carbon-doped hydroxyapatite (CHAp) was synthesized via a non-hydrolytic sol-gel method at low temperature, and the revelation of a novel “adsorption-in-situ photosensitization” mechanism. Comprehensive structural characterization revealed that carbon doping modulates the crystalline growth orientation, resulting in a distinct peanut-shaped morphology and optimized textural properties, including an increased specific surface area and a reduced average pore size. These structural alterations endow CHAp with enhanced adsorption capacity for tetracycline (TC). The TC-CHAp complex formed via post-adsorption surface coordination exhibits a narrowed band gap, which enhances its visible-light responsiveness. Furthermore, the established p-n heterojunction between TC-CHAp and CHAp facilitates photoinduced charge separation and transfer, enhancing photocatalytic efficiency. The ESR test results proved that the ·O 2 − radical in the reaction system promoted the degradation of TC. Experimental results demonstrate that under dark conditions, the 100 mg samples achieved 68 % adsorption efficiency for TC (50 mg/L, 100 mL) within 60 min, while exhibiting 93.6 % degradation efficiency after 30 min of visible light irradiation. The material maintained 82.7 % degradation efficiency through six consecutive cycling tests, demonstrating excellent stability and reusability for repeated usage. Therefore, this study has expanded the application scope of non-hydrolysis processes and provided a promising approach for the development of novel green photocatalysts with high adsorption capacity and photocatalytic efficiency.
