As a greenhouse gas, CO 2 is also a rich carbon resource. Using sunlight to reduce CO 2 to usable substances through photocatalysis can alleviate the greenhouse effect and realize energy recycling. Herein, CuS nanoparticles are grown in situ on the surface of inverse opal g-C 3 N 4 by a one-step hydrothermal method. The inverse opal structure can increase the specific surface area of the material, and CuS can be used as the cocatalyst to accept photo-generated electrons on the conduction band of g-C 3 N 4 , thereby promoting the separation and transfer of photo-generated charges. And the interfacial charge transfer mechanism of CuS further improves the separation efficiency of photogenerated electrons and holes. The photocatalytic reduction of CO 2 activity of the prepared catalyst is greatly improved. The CO yield reaches 13.24 μmol g −1 h −1 . A new strategy is provided to develop artificial photosynthesis for reduction of CO 2 .
Graphical A series of all-inorganic lead-free halide perovskite inverse opals were prepared and furtherly used as the photocatalysts to promote the polymerization of EDOT under the irradiation of visible light. All the samples exhibited the nice replica of the artificial template and high crystallinity. The bandgap of the catalysts was adjusted by screening the ratios of bromide to iodide and antinomy to bismuth. Cs 3 Bi 0.5 Sb 1.5 Br 9 showed the highest performance of the photocatalytic polymerization for EDOT, indicating the dual halide perovskites are more flexible than single halide perovskite in terms of bandgap engineering. A series of all-inorganic lead-free halide perovskite inverse opals were prepared and furtherly used as the photocatalysts to promote the polymerization of 3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) under the irradiation of visible light. All the samples exhibited the nice replica of the artificial template and high crystallinity. The bandgap of the catalysts was adjusted by screening the ratios of bromide to iodide and antinomy to bismuth, respectively. Among all the samples, Cs 3 Bi 0.5 Sb 1.5 Br 9 inverse opal showed the best catalytic performance and the excellent stability in terms of the morphology and the crystalline phase after four cycles of photocatalytic polymerization. Since EDOT is commercially available, the present observation suggested a convenient protocol of preparing the composited materials or optoelectronic devices based on the lead-free halide perovskites and the conductive poly(3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene).

The construction of recyclable films with unique morphology and piezoelectric-enhanced photocatalytic performance is of great significance for wastewater purification. Here, inverse opal structured ZnO@TiO 2 nanocomposite film were prepared by template method and chemical water bath method. The piezo-photocatalytic properties of the obtained ZnO@TiO 2 nanocomposite films were evaluated by the degradation of organic dyes. The results showed that the piezo-photocatalytic constant rate of the ZnO@TiO 2 nanocomposite films under the synergistic action of ultrasound and ultraviolet light reached 52.3×10 −3 min −1 , much higher than those of the pure inverse opal TiO 2 framework under same condition (6.6×10 −3 min −1 ) and the ZnO@TiO 2 nanocomposite films under only ultraviolet light (10.1×10 −3 min −1 ) or only ultrasound (2.0×10 −3 min −1 ). It is believed that the inverse opal structured TiO 2 framework not only provides an open space for ZnO nanorods growth, but also initiates redox reaction for dye degradation through generation and transfer of photo-generated carriers under ultraviolet irradiation. Meanwhile, the ZnO nanorods can efficiently promote carrier separation by piezoelectric polarization electric field and interface contact induced band tilting with TiO 2 , thus significantly improving the piezo-photocatalytic activity. This work provides a novel route for reasonable design of recyclable and efficient piezo-photocatalytic films.

Low light absorption efficiency and short carrier diffusion length mainly restrict the use of CuBi 2 O 4 as a photocathode for an efficient photoelectrocatalytic CO 2 reduction reaction (PEC-CO 2 RR). These inadequacies are alleviated by fabricating CuBi 2 O 4 inverse opal photocathode modify with plasmonic Ag nanoparticles (CuBi 2 O 4 IOs-Ag) by using a sacrificing template method. The CuBi 2 O 4 IOs-Ag photocathode exhibits superior PEC-CO 2 RR-to-CO performance with a Faraday efficiency (FE) of 92% at 0.2 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode, and this value is roughly 1.6 times that of the pristine CuBi 2 O 4 thin film. Detail characterization and experiments reveal that the exceptional three-dimensional (3D) order structure simultaneously accelerates the mass transfer rates and enhances the light-harvesting efficiency. In addition, the introduction of Ag nanoparticles remarkably improves the surface charge distribution by forming an ohmic contact with CuBi 2 O 4 . Consequently, carrier recombination is efficiently inhibited, and the carrier dynamics behavior is improved. This work provides important insights into the design of high-performance photoelectrocatalytic systems for CO 2 reduction by engineering the microstructure of catalysts with localized surface plasmon resonance effect.
