Nitrogen-doped hierarchical porous carbons are an ideal electrode material for achieving high-performance supercapacitors. However, the design and control of hierarchical porous structure generally requires complicated synthesis steps and expensive pore-former, which greatly limits its development. A simple dual pore-former method with one-step carbonization is proposed to prepare nitrogen-doped hierarchical porous carbons (CHC-ZnK). The dual pore-former of zinc acetate and potassium citrate can not only prepare pores of different sizes through a variety of mechanisms, but also have a great complementary effect on the control of the carbon material structure . CHC-ZnK with the hierarchical porosity and the large surface area delivers high specific capacitance of 408.9 F g −1 and excellent rate performance. The assembled symmetric supercapacitor exhibits high energy density and can ensure that the light-emitting diode run normally.

Polyvinylpyrrolidone K30 was used as the templating agent, and ammonium bicarbonate was used as the pore-forming agent to make porous mannitol and porous lactose by the template and pore-forming agent method, respectively. Compared with the template method, the porous particles prepared by the pore-forming agent method have larger pore diameter (320.276 nm and 250.528 nm) and specific surface area (1.018 m 2 /g and 0.913 m 2 /g). The molecular docking results showed that mannitol/lactose interacted with curcumin and adhered to each other through hydrogen bonding. The adsorption kinetics process of porous mannitol and porous lactose prepared by template agent, pore-forming agent and curcumin were different. Among the curcumin-loaded porous particles prepared by the two methods, the curcumin-loaded porous lactose prepared by the pore-forming agent method had the fastest release rate and the highest cumulative release rate (95 %). Curcumin releases consistent with the Peppas release kinetics model and the diffusion mechanism.
