Based on the three-dimensional ordered macroporous titanium dioxide (3DOM-TiO 2 ), a series of gold-embedded 3DOM-TiO 2 ( n Au@3DOM-TiO 2 ) with controlled Au loading amount ( n = 0.24, 1.2, 2.4, 4.8, 12, and 24 wt%) was successfully fabricated via in-situ pyrolysis for the first time. Compared with the surface-modified Au/3DOM-TiO 2 by traditional impregnation–reduction route, this body-doped Au@3DOM-TiO 2 structure exhibited smaller particle size and better dispersive property which are important for photocatalysis. Therefore, the photocatalytic activities of n Au@3DOM-TiO 2 have been tested and the optimized photocatalyst of 4.8Au@3DOM-TiO 2 was identified. A possible mechanism of Au@3DOM-TiO 2 for the enhanced photoactivity was well discussed. The present work demonstrated a unique “gold-embedded” interface with potential advantages of highly dispersed, anti-aggregation, easy recovery, and enhanced catalytic performance, and that this approach could provide an ideal platform for the further design of noble metal-doped semiconductors.
Graphical In a ZIF : A hollow nanocomposite is prepared, which shows an internal cavity and porous shell, making it a satisfactory electrochemical sensing material. This work employed a polystyrene sphere as a template to synthesize a hollow nanocomposite with gold-embedded zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (H-Au@ZIF-67). The morphological and structural characteristics of the prepared composite were investigated by using scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and energy-disperse spectroscopy, indicating that H-Au@ZIF-67 with a sunflower-shaped cross section was successfully prepared. The synthesized H-Au@ZIF-67 was used to construct a dopamine electrochemical sensor, which showed good linearity scope of 0.25–438.75 μM with a high sensitivity of 332.1 μA mM −1 cm −2 and low detection limit of 0.04 μM. These results showed that the H-Au@ZIF-67 can be a good electrode modification material for dopamine sensing.

In this work, gold embedded chitosan nanoparticles (Au@CS NPs) were fabricated by a one-pot method. The benzaldehyde-terminated poly[(2-methacryloyloxy) ethyl phosphorylcholine] (PMPC) was applied to modification of the gold doped chitosan nanoparticles. The obtained Au@CS-PMPC NPs had the diameter of 135 nm with a narrow distribution. The size of the Au@CS-PMPC NPs, as well as the size of the embedded gold NPs, might be well-controlled by adjusting the feeding ratio between chitosan and HAuCl4. Furthermore, the Au@CS-PMPC NPs showed increased colloidal stability, high drug loading content, pH-responsive drug release, excellent biocompatibility and bright fluorescence emission. The results demonstrated that Au@CS-PMPC NPs showed a great potential for tumor therapy via the combination advantages of pH-sensitive controlled drug release and cellular fluorescence imaging.
