In recent years, poly(ionic liquid)s (PILs) have attracted much attention for the application in humidity sensors. However, the ionic conductivity of PILs is inhibited in the low humidity range. In this work, discontinuous conductive template was prepared using a hydrophobic conductive polymer PEDOT:F, and PILs was prepared in situ on the conductive template (PFCT&PILs) to obtain a low humidity sensor. The prepared PFCT&PILs sensor has much lower impedance value, higher response and smaller detection limit than the pure PILs sensor. The PFCT&PILs sensor shows a high response of 208, with a small hysteresis of 0.5 % RH and has small impedance value in 5 %–35 % RH. The humidity sensitive principle of PFCT&PILs sensor has been discussed.
In this study, vanadium carbide (VC) was used as the raw material to synthesize PDA-functionalized VC (P-VC). VC and P-VC were added as nanoreinforced materials to the Ni–W–B coating. The effects of the two nanomaterials on the morphology, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance of the Ni–W–B coatings were investigated and compared. The experimental results show that the surface of the Ni–W–B/P-VC coating is denser and more uniform than that of the Ni–W–B and Ni–W–B/VC coatings, and there are no obvious defects on the surface. According to the hardness test, the Ni–W–B/P-VC coating reaches the highest microhardness of 887.1 HV. According to the friction and wear tests, the Ni–W–B/P-VC coating has the shallowest scratches, the lowest average friction coefficient (COF = 0.274), and the lowest wear rate (9.578 × 10–8 mm2/N). The corrosion resistance is the best, the corrosion rate is 0.0456 mm/y, and the impedance value Rt reaches 14,501 Ω·cm2.

The hydrophilic benzimidazole@ZIF-8@tannic acid (ZBT) nanoparticles and the pH-responsive modified epoxy (EP) coatings based on ZBT were prepared innovatively. The result exhibited that the ZBT had excellent compatibility with the EP coatings, and the addition of ZBT improved the protective properties of the EP coatings, which were attributed to the formation of the Zn(OH) 2 deposition film, the inhibitor adsorption film and the ferric tannate film on the steel substrate. Meanwhile, the original adhesion and wet adhesion strengths of the ZBT/EP coatings were both enhanced, which was mainly attributed to the enhanced interaction between the ZBT/EP coatings and the carbon steel, and the crosslinking density and the degree of curing of the coatings were also improved. After 173 days of immersion, the impedance value of the ZBT coatings remained at 7.89 × 10 7 Ω·cm 2 , while the EP coatings decreased to 3.94 × 10 3 Ω·cm 2 . The wet adhesion loss of EP and ZBT/EP coatings was 63.6 % and 27.1 %, respectively. In the end, the protective mechanism of the ZBT/EP coatings was first proposed.
