The solubility of (−)-epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) peracetate in 12 pure solvents (methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, 1-butanol, 2-propanol, 2-butanol, 1-pentanol, 1-hexanol, 2-methoxyethanol, 2-ethoxyethanol, 2-propoxyethanol, and 2-butoxyethanol) was measured using the static method at the temperature range 278.15–318.15 K under atmospheric pressure. The solubility of EGCG peracetate in the selected solvents increased with increasing temperature in 12 solvents, and the most notable change was found in methanol. The obtained solubility data were correlated with the van’t Hoff equation, the modified Apelblat equation, the λh equation, and the nonrandom two-liquid model. Furthermore, solid forms of EGCG peracetate in 12 pure solvents were studied by a scanning electron microscope and X-ray powder diffraction. The obtained solubility values would be helpful in the purification and crystallization process of EGCG peracetate.

Artesunate is dissolved in an aqueous solution of several organic solvents (methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, and PG), and the mole fraction of artesunate is determined by the static method. When the system reaches equilibrium, the range of system temperature is 278.15–318.15 K and the pressure environment is 101.1 kPa. When the temperature is constant, the equilibrium mole fraction of artesunate is proportional to the mass percentage of organic solvents, and the relationship between artesunate solubility and temperature is the same as before under certain conditions of the organic solvent component. When the external conditions are the same, artesunate is more likely to dissolve in the ethanol + water mixture than in several other systems. Besides, three classical mixed solvent thermodynamic equations—Jouyban–Acree model, van’t Hoff–Jouyban–Acree model, and Apelblat–Jouyban–Acree model—are applied to calculate the equilibrium mole fraction of artesunate. The maximum value of average relative deviations (ARD) obtained during the calculation is 0.83%. The experimentally measured data on artesunate has different general meanings for the expansion of application and production in the pharmaceutical field and provides theoretical data for its industrial production.
Ethosuximide is a succinimide anticonvulsant active pharmaceutical ingredient. A simple static method by determining the cloud point pressure is employed to measure the solubility of ethosuximide in supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO 2 ) at various temperatures T /K = (313.15, 318.15, 323.15 and 328.15) and in pressures P/ MPa = (9–15). The experimental solubility of ethosuximide in SC-CO 2 is found to be between 3.45E-03 and 8.71E-03 in terms of mole fraction under the experimental conditions. The measured solubility data are successfully correlated by four semi-empirical models including Chrastil, Bartle et al., Kumar and Johnston (K-J) and Mendez-Santiago-Teja (MST). The correlation results show good agreement with the experimental data. The average absolute relative deviation (AARD) between the measured values and the calculated ones are 2.64%, 2.98%, 3.02% and 3.25% for Chrastil, Bartle, K-J and MST respectively. The results of this study provide the effective fundamental for the probable processes based on SC-CO 2 .
