Elastomers with high strength and toughness, excellent self-healing properties, and biocompatibility have broad application prospects in wearable electronics and other fields, but preparing it remains a challenge. In this work, we propose a highly adaptable strategy by introducing the small molecule crosslinking agent of triethanolamine (TEA) to the poly thioctic acid (PTA) chains and preparing the PA x E y elastomers using a simple synthesis step. This strategy stabilizes the PTA chains by constructing multiple non-covalent cross-linked dynamic networks, endowing materials with excellent strength and toughness (tensile strength of 288 kPa, toughness of 278.2 kJ/m 3 ), admirable self-healing properties (self-healing efficiency of 121.6% within 7 h at 70 °C), and good biocompatibility. The PA x E y elastomers can also be combined with MWNTs to become flexible strain sensors, which can be used to monitor human joint movements with high sensitivity, repeatable responses, and stability.
HfO 2 is an important high temperature resistant material, which has a high melting point (2810 °C), good chemical stability and high thermal radiation. Fibrous material has some advantages for heavy refractory matter, such as large aspect ratio, light weight, more energy saving, flexibility and further can be processed into a variety of product forms. In this paper, high strength HfO 2 crystalline nanofibers were prepared through self-synthesis polyacetylcatonahafnium (PAHf) with electrospinning method. Phase variation process was discussed in detail, and the HfO 2 fibers that use Y 2 O 3 as stabilizer with phase stability were prepared finally. The fibers were composed of nanocrystals with good flexibility even folded in half, tensile strength of 1.6 MPa @ 1000 °C and can lifting up 1288 times its own weight, low density around 35 mg/cm 3 . The thermal conductivity was stable around 26 mW / (m·K) @ 1200 °C and the temperature can be cooled from 1200 °C to 396 °C after 180 s through 7 mm fibrous membranes . And after treated at 1200 °C for 5 h, the fibrous membranes also maintain high strength and good flexibility. By this kind of precursor method, high strength oxide fibers can be obtained, which has a wide application prospect in field of high temperature thermal protection.

Owing to their high strength and high toughness, ionically conductive elastomers have wide application prospects in artificial muscle materials, lithium-ion batteries and other fields. In this work, on the basis of a polymerizable deep eutectic solvent (DES) prepared from acrylic acid (AA) and choline chloride (ChCl) and N-(2-hydroxyethyl) acrylamide (HEAA) monomers, a high-strength and high-toughness ionic conductive elastomer P(DES–HEAA) was successfully prepared via one-step photopolymerization without the use of any chemical crosslinking agents. The elastomer not only has excellent mechanical properties (tensile strength: 15.59 MPa, tensile strain: 521%, Young's modulus: 652.3 MPa, toughness: 56.2 MJ m−3) but also has high transparency, satisfactory conductivity, good shape memory and excellent anticutting and wear resistance. Owing to the simple and fast preparation process (light irradiation for 10 min) and the excellent properties of the obtained elastomers, this study provides a novel and effective strategy for the development of high-strength, high-toughness, and damage-resistant ionic conductive elastomers.
