Laser induced high temperature pulse (HTP) generation has been widely used in some high-immediacy applications requiring dramatic temperature changes. Recent years researchers put interest in light-to-heat (include photothermal, light induced exothermic reaction and combination of both) materials to reduce the initiating energy of the laser ignition. However, the laser energy for realizing sufficient light-to-heat conversion is still high. MXene exhibits excellent light absorption, high light-to-heat conversion efficiency and has abundant metastable atoms which trend to undergo exothermic chemical reactions, but its incomplete oxidation affects its total heat release when the laser power is relatively high. Herein, we have prepared a ZIF-67/Ti 3 C 2 MXene intercalated membrane. It is found that porous ZIF-67 exhibits a synergistic effect on MXene and can significantly improve its physical/chemical coupled HTP by enhancing its light absorption and subsequent energy release during its oxidation. ε 2,4,6,8,10,12-(hexanitrohexaaza) cyclododecane (ε-CL-20) laser ignition experiments prove that ZIF-67/Ti 3 C 2 MXene intercalated membrane exhibits better ignition performance than pure MXene membrane by reducing both ignition threshold (151.2 mJ) and ignition delay (21 ms) at a low laser power intensity (59.7 W/cm 2 ). This work can provide an insight for the structural design of new light-to-heat membranes.

Ground-level ozone (O 3 ) is a primary air pollutant with potential adverse impacts on human health and ecosystems. Aiming to detect O 3 concentration and develop efficient O 3 sensing materials, sensing behavior of heterogenous cation (Fe 3+ , Sn 4+ and Sb 5+ ) doped In 2 O 3 nanostructures was investigated. The incorporation of these cations modulated the electronic structure of semiconductor oxides , affecting the density of chemisorbed oxygen species and reactive sites. From O 3 sensing results, Fe 3+ doped In 2 O 3 based sensors featuring saturated resistance curves in O 3 gas, demonstrated fast sensing speed and qualified detection threshold (20 ppb). In contrast, Sn 4+ and Sb 5+ doped counterparts exhibited non-saturated sensing curves, resulting in slower response/recovery speed. As a proof-of-concept, these optimized sensors were integrated as the sensor array. Coupled to the image recognition technique, this sensor array could successfully discriminate O 3 and NO x . That is, through the tailored combination of material modulation and sensor array, this study paves a novel approach for highly sensitive and selective O 3 detection.
