s Ag/AgCl/TiO 2 nanocomposite was synthesized through the combination of sol-gel process and hydrothermal (HT) method followed by ion exchange method in the paper. Transmission electron microscope, UV–vis absorption property and X-ray diffraction were utilized to characterize the morphology, optical absorption property and phase structure of the as-prepared photocatalysts. The morphological and performance studies of Ag/AgCl/TiO 2 revealed that a well-interconnected mixed phase heterojunction photocatalyst was achieved through as-prepared TiO 2 and the subsequent ion exchange method. By the degradation of Rhodamine B under xenon lamp, Ag/AgCl/TiO 2 exhibited a significant enhancement in photocatalytic activity compared with TiO 2 and Ag/TiO 2 . The band gap of Ag/AgCl/TiO 2 can reach to 2.53eV compared with 3.22eV of the prepared TiO 2 . Furthermore, the synthesis process and photoreaction mechanisms of TiO 2 , Ag/TiO 2 and Ag/AgCl/TiO 2 photocatalysts were proposed. It demonstrated that the enhancement of photocatalytic was mainly due to the reducing of electron-hole recombination in Ag/AgCl/TiO 2 .
Photocatalysis has emerged as one of the most promising technologies for formaldehyde purification owing to its green, safe, and cost-effective properties. However, most photocatalysts exhibit poor light absorption properties and exist as powders, limiting their large-scale application. To address this challenge, Ag-AgCl@TiO 2 @cellulose nanofiber porous composites were prepared by integrating the photocatalysts into a cellulose matrix through physical/chemical dual crosslinking, photoreduction, and freeze-drying. The materials exhibited excellent mechanical properties due to the hydrogen bonding and electrostatic adsorption interactions between the components. Moreover, the porous composites exhibited excellent synergistic adsorption–photocatalytic degradation performance for formaldehyde. This is attributed to the abundant polar functional groups in the cellulose nanofibers and the heterostructure formed by TiO 2 , Ag, and AgCl. The composites achieved a maximum photocatalytic degradation rate of 99.54 %. After five cycles of reuse, they still maintained a high degradation efficiency of 99.07 %, demonstrating excellent recyclability. Compared with similar materials, the synthesized porous composites performed well in terms of degradation rate, maximum degradation efficiency, and cyclic reutilization performance. In summary, this study provides an innovative approach to air purification.

A ZIF-8/Ag/AgCl/TiO 2 modified PAN nanofibrous mat was successfully fabricated via stepwise in-situ growth method. The morphology and composition of the resultant ZIF-8/Ag/AgCl/TiO 2 modified PAN nanofibrous mat were confirmed by emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), respectively. Next, methylene blue (MB) was employed as a contaminant to evaluate photocatalytic activity of prepared composite photocatalysts under visible light and natural sunlight irradiation. As expected, the ZIF-8/Ag/AgCl/TiO 2 decorated PAN nanofibrous mat exhibited high photocatalytic activity under both light sources, owing to the synergistic effect among ZIF-8, Ag/AgCl and TiO 2 . The degradation efficiency of the targeted PAN nanofibrous mat under visible light could reach to 98.02% within 120 min towards 20 mL of 50 mg/L MB aqueous solution. Most importantly, the fabricated ZIF-8/Ag/AgCl/TiO 2 modified PAN nanofibrous mat exhibited outstanding recyclability, the corresponding degradation efficiencies were up to 90.16% after five cycles and approximately 80% after ten cycles, respectively. Additionally, the resultant nanofibrous mat showed a long-term stability against acid and alkaline, and excellent antimicrobial performance against S. aureus and E. coli .
