Graphical Co 3 O 4 /Bi 2 MoO 6 p-n type heterojunctions were successfully prepared by hydrothermal combined in-situ deposition. The degradation rate of enrofloxacin reached 87.84 % in 30 min under visible light irradiation with PMS (monoperoxysulfate). Thanks to the construction of the p-n heterojunction system and the activation of the PMS, the photogenerated charge carriers of the Co 3 O 4 /Bi 2 MoO 6 composite can be completely separated and transferred to produce active species with higher oxidation properties. On this basis, the photocatalytic mechanism of Co 3 O 4 /Bi 2 MoO 6 /PMS was explored. In this work, Co 3 O 4 /Bi 2 MoO 6 p-n-type heterojunctions were successfully fabricated via a hydrothermal method combined with in-situ deposition. The as-prepared samples were systematically characterized by means of SEM, TEM, XPS, XRD, etc. Through the synergistic effect of PMS (peroxosulfate monosalt), the obtained composite CB-2 has a superior degradation performance of enrofloxacin under visible light irradiation, and the degradation rate of enrofloxacin reaches 87.84 % within 30 min. The reaction process of enrofloxacin degradation was analyzed by 3D EEM (exception emission matrix spectrum) and LC–MS (liquid phase mass spectrometry). The influence of the reaction system on EFA degradation efficiency without PMS synergy and light was studied. The kind of free radical was determined from the outcome of the EPR and free radical capture experiment. Benefiting from the construction of the p-n heterojunction system and the activation of the PMS, the photogenerated carriers of the Co 3 O 4 /Bi 2 MoO 6 composite can be fully separated and transferred to produce active species with higher oxidative properties. Based on this, the photocatalytic mechanism of Co3O4/Bi2MoO6/PMS was explored.

Dissolved antibiotics have been a research subject due to their widespread presence and potential threats in drinking water treatment. To enhance the photocatalytic activity of Bi 2 MoO 6 for the degradation of norfloxacin (NOR), the heterostructured Co 3 O 4 /Bi 2 MoO 6 (CoBM) composites were synthesized by employing ZIF-67-derived Co 3 O 4 on Bi 2 MoO 6 microspheres. The as-synthesized resultant material 3-CoBM by 300 °C calcination was characterized by XRD, SEM, XPS, transient photocurrent techniques, and EIS. The photocatalytic performance was evaluated by monitoring different concentrations, NOR removal from aqueous solution. Compared with Bi 2 MoO 6 , 3-CoBM exhibited the better adsorption and elimination capacity of NOR due to the combined effect between peroxymonosulfate activation and photocatalytic reaction. The influences of catalyst dosage, PMS dosage, various interfering ions (Cl − , NO 3 − , HCO 3 − , and SO 4 2− ), pH value, and type of antibiotics for application removal were also invested. By activating PMS under visible-light irradiation, 84.95% of metronidazole (MNZ) can be degraded within 40 min, and NOR and tetracycline (TC) can be completely degraded using 3-CoBM. Degradation mechanism was elucidated by quenching tests in combination with EPR measurement, and the degree of activity of the active groups from strong to weak is h + , SO 4 - •, and •OH, respectively. The degradation products and conceivable degradation pathways of NOR were speculated by LC-MS. In combination of excellent peroxymonosulfate activation and highly enhanced photocatalytic performance, this newly Co 3 O 4 /Bi 2 MoO 6 catalyst might be a promising candidate for degrading emerging antibiotic contamination in wastewater.
