CO2 hydrogenation is one of the key technologies for carbon recycling and greenhouse effect mitigation. Cu-based catalysts have been widely used in the hydrogenation of CO2 to methanol. However, the low catalytic efficiency and instability of Cu-based catalysts limit their industrial application. Herein, a Zr-based metal−organic framework was used to synthesize a Cu NWs@ZrO2 catalyst with a Cu-ZrO2 interface. The Cu NWs@ZrO2 catalyst shows high activity with promising selectivity and excellent stability for the synthesis of methanol from CO2 hydrogenation. Density functional theory calculations and in situ diffuse reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy confirmed that the CO2 hydrogenation on Cu NWs@ZrO2 followed the HCOO* pathway, and the Cu-ZrO2 interface made a significant contribution to the key intermediate step of CO2 to HCOO* and accelerated the CO2 hydrogenation.
1D Ag3PO4-NPs/Cu-NWs have been constructed to enhance visible-light-driven photocatalytic activity via biomimetic synthesis. Cu nanowires (NWs) were synthesized by a facile hydrothermal method. During the process of biomimetic synthesis, the porous PTFE film, which can mimic the transport process of cell membranes, plays an important role in controlling the transport speed of silver ions (Ag+) to decrease the reaction speed. Thus inhibition of the replacement reaction of Ag+/Cu and the uniform growth of Ag3PO4 nanoparticles (NPs) with a diameter of about 10 nm on Cu-NWs can be realized simultaneously. The diameter of Ag3PO4-NPs/Cu-NW is about 70 nm. Owing to the high electron transport of single crystal Cu-NWs, the free electrons in Ag3PO4 are transferred out to promote photogenerated electron–hole pair separation. The stability of Ag3PO4 NPs of the Ag3PO4-NPs/Cu-NWs was improved and the photodecomposition no longer occurred. Meanwhile, the band-gap of Ag3PO4 decreased to 2.07 eV after being coated on Cu-NWs and expanded the absorption scope of visible-light. In addition, the active species-trapping experiments indicated that the holes and ˙O2− play important roles in the photocatalytic reactions. The novel Ag3PO4-NPs/Cu-NWs were used for the degradation of ciprofloxacin (CPFX) for the first time and showed high photocatalytic degradation performance. After visible-light irradiation for 15 min, the degradation rates of CPFX with pure Ag3PO4 NPs and AC0.3 as catalysts were about 27% and 53%. In the end, the degradation efficiency of Ag3PO4-NPs/Cu-NWs was 6.07 times that of the pure Ag3PO4 NPs.
The modern portable and wearable electronic devices have been put forward a claim on flexibility, transparency and lightweight. Triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) has attracted great attention as basic component of independent power source due to its outstanding characteristics. Here, a simple and efficient approach was demonstrated to modify poly-(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) in order to both improve the output electrical performance of TENG and optimize its hydrophobility as well. The 4 cm 2 TENG consisting of PDMS-perfluorododecyl trichlorosilane (FDTS) friction layer and copper nanowires (Cu NWs)/reduced graphene oxide (RGO) electrode, exhibits high output voltage and large transfer charge quantity of 125 V and 80 nC, where the corresponding electrical performances are larger with several times than that of pristine PDMS-based TENG. A voltage of 105.8V can be obtained even under the ambient condition with high humidity of ~60%. The improvements are attributed to the reaction between FDTS and PDMS, introducing fluorine element to absorb more electrons and increasing dielectric constant. Moreover, the fabricated TENG remains high visible transmittance (70.1%) and good flexibility as energy sources which can satisfy the demands of portable and wearable electronic devices.
