Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) can be used as the immobilization carriers to protect the physicochemical properties of enzymes and improve their catalytic performance. Herein, we report an in situ co-precipitation method to immobilize lipase from Candida sp. 99–125 in Cu-BTC MOF (BTC = 1, 3, 5-benzene tricarboxylic acid, H 3 BTC). Characterizations of the immobilized lipase (lipase@Cu-BTC) have confirmed the entrapment of lipase molecules in Cu-BTC MOF. The immobilized lipase has been successfully applied for resolving N- hydroxymethyl vince lactam ( N -HMVL) and its catalytic activity is five times that of native enzyme. More importantly, we found that Cu-BTC MOF can afford powerful protection for enzyme in nearly dry organic solvent and endow the immobilized lipase with excellent reusability and storage stability. Our present study may widen the application of immobilized enzyme with MOF as the immobilized carrier. Graphical Abstract

A photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensor based on hierarchically porous Cu-BTC/g-C 3 N 4 nanosheet (Cu-BTC/CN-NS, BTC = benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid) material was constructed for the first time. As a composite material, the hierarchically porous Cu-BTC can help to efficiently capture suitable pesticide molecules and accelerate signal transmission, while CN-NS possesses good optical performance. Under the irradiation of visible light, the Cu metal center can coordinate with the added glyphosate to form Cu-glyphosate complexes, leading to the increased steric hindrance of electron transfer and consequently resulted in an obvious decrease in photocurrent . Through this strategy, the constructed sensor can realize the detection of glyphosate from non-electroactive to electroactive. The results indicate that this photoelectrochemical sensor has a low detection limit of 1.3 × 10 −13 mol L −1 and a wide detection range (1.0 × 10 −12 –1.0 × 10 −8 mol L −1 and 1.0 × 10 −8 ∼ 1.0 × 10 −3 mol L −1 ). Furthermore, this Cu-BTC/CN-NS based sensor has the characteristics of short detection time and easy operation. It has great potential applications in photoelectrochemical analysis.

The development of new method for the rapid and facile screening of antibiotics residues in food is of great importance in food safety. Herein, a nanocompisite of polyaniline@copper-1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid (PAN@Cu-BTC) with excellent electrochemical activity was directly prepared on the screen-printed electrode surface by a two-step electrochemical synthesis method. Then the tetracycline aptamer (TC-Apt) was assembled onto the electrode surface through the coordination between 5′-PO 4 3- on the aptamer and Cu 2+ on the MOF, achieving a novel electrochemical aptasensor for tetracycline (TC). The PAN@Cu-BTC has two functions in the aptasensors, namely the immobilization matrix of the aptamer probe and the internal signal source for target recognition. The electrochemical sensing assays showed that the capture of TC-Apt to the target on the electrode surface could cause the decrease of the electrochemical signal of PAN@Cu-BTC. Based on this, the TC can be analyzed in a wide range from 10 pM to 1 µM, with a low detection limit of 0.32 pM. The recoveries of the aptasensor for the detection of TC from Ctenopharyngodon idella meat were 90.0 %∼102.0 %, indicating that the constructed aptasensor is applicable for the detection of TC residues in fresh aquatic products.

The classical metal-organic framework (MOF) Cu-BTC exhibits low thermal conductivity, which causes extreme temperature distribution inhomogeneity and limits its application as a support for methanol and steam reforming (MSR) thermocatalysts. A series of GO+Cu-BTC composites were synthesized via a one-pot hydrothermal method by combining Cu-BTC with graphene oxide (GO). The effects of GO with different oxidation degrees and mass fractions on the thermal conductivity from room temperature to 200 °C and the specific surface area of the composites were analyzed comprehensively, as well as the influence mechanism of GO addition on the thermal conductivity. The results indicated that the GO-induced changes in crystals characteristics, the formation of thermal conduction pathways through GO coverage and the new spaces between GO and Cu-BTC collectively achieve the co-enhancement on thermal conductivity and specific surface area and of the composites. For the composite with the same GO mass fraction, the thermal conductivity decreased with the increasing oxidation degree of GO and for the composite with the same GO oxidation degree, the thermal conductivity firstly decreased and then increased with the increasing mass fraction of GO. The specific surface area decreases with the increasing oxidation degree of GO and the optimum oxidation degree was 0.3. GO shows a significant enhancement in specific surface area at low mass fraction but caused a sharp decrease in specific surface area with the excessive GO mass fraction. Among all the composites, the optimal 0.1 wt.%GO-0.3+Cu-BTC exhibited the highest BET and Langmuir specific surface areas of 1394.55 m 2 /g and 1939.67 m 2 /g, which were 44 % and 43 % higher than those of pure Cu-BTC and its thermal conductivity at 25 °C, 100 °C and 200 °C achieved 0.31 W/(m· °C), 0.27 W/(m· °C) and 0.31 W/(m· °C), which were 211 %, 200 % and 53 % higher than that of pure Cu-BTC, respectively. It providing novel design strategies and experimental supports for the optimization of the heat transfer performance of MOFs developed as carriers for thermal catalytic systems.

A highly selective molecularly imprinted electrochemical sensor was constructed for chloramphenicol (CAP) detection based on a copper-benzenetricarboxylic acid metal–organic framework (Cu-BTC)-MOF)/graphene (Gr) composite and poly(o-phenylenediamine) (o-PD) molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP). The (Cu-BTC)-MOF exhibits extremely high porosity, adjustable pore size, a large specific surface area, and highly dispersed unsaturated metal sites. These properties enable it to provide active centers, guide the orderly growth of MIPs, or anchor functional groups, all of which are beneficial for improving the detection performance and stability of the sensor. Graphene, as a support substrate for (Cu-BTC)-MOF, can significantly improve the dispersion, structural stability and conductivity of (Cu-BTC)-MOF. o-PD serves as a functional monomer with two amino active sites, which enable hydrogen bonding or electrostatic interactions with the functional groups (such as carboxyl or hydroxyl) of target molecules, thus enhancing template-specific recognition. The aromatic ring of o-PD facilitates π–π stacking and can broaden the recognition scope. The fabricated sensor exhibits a wide detection range of 0.1 to 120 µM, a low detection limit of 0.05 µM and high sensitivity of 0.186 µA µM−1. Furthermore, it also demonstrated good selectivity, reproducibility and high stability. Moreover, the proposed molecularly imprinted electrochemical sensor was successfully used to assess the chloramphenicol content in real food samples. Therefore, this work presents a simple and efficient strategy for detecting chloramphenicol, which could aid in applying molecularly imprinted electrochemical sensors across various detection scenarios.
