Multi-component promoters may efficiently improve the catalytic performance of the primary Cu-based catalysts in the Rochow-Müller reaction, but this approach is not well explored, and the roles of the promoters are not very clear. Herein, we report the ZrO 2 -supported CuO catalyst (CuO/ZrO 2 ) modified with a co-promoter of ZnO, Sn, and CuP prepared by a simple dry ball-milling method. The co-promoter could significantly increase the amount of surface adsorbed oxygen and improve the reducing ability of catalysts, facilitating the formation of the active Cu 3 Si phase and further advancing dimethyldichlorosilane ((CH 3 ) 2 SiCl 2 , M2) selectivity and Si conversion in the Rochow-Müller reaction. Compared to the state-of-the-art commercial catalyst, these CuO/ZrO 2 catalysts with the co-promoters all showed enhanced catalytic activity. Especially, the CuO/ZrO 2 catalyst with the co-existence of ZnO, Sn, and CuP promoters achieved the highest M2 selectivity and Si conversion, attributed to its most abundant surface adsorption oxygen and the strongest reducibility. This work opens up a new avenue to improve the catalytic activity of Cu-based catalysts for the Rochow-Müller reaction.
To provide an effective method of green aquaculture, the photocatalysts of CuO/ZrO2/CB/coal-tar-pitch-SAC, which have visible light sterilization capacity, were successfully fabricated by coating ZrO2and CuO on the surface of CB/coal-tar-pitch-SAC. The structures of synthesized CuO/ZrO2/CB/coal-tar-pitch-SAC were investigated by XRD, XPS and SEM measurements in detail. It was observed that CuO/ZrO2/CB/coal-tar-pitch-SAC materials possess obvious heterojunction structure and excellent visible light sterilization capacity when the prepared weight ratio of CuO, ZrO2and CB/coal-tar-pitch-SAC is controlled as 0.03:0.3:1. Our studies can provide a beneficial reference for the design of photocatalysts with sterilization capacity in visible light. Keywords:photocatalyst;heterojunction;coal tar pitch;green aquaculture;ZrO2

Catalytic combustion is a widely used technology for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) abatement, in which highly active catalysts play a key role. However, catalyst is prone to poisoning during the degradation of VOCs. In order to study anti-poisoning performance, the Cl, S and P heteroatoms were artificially introduced, and the corresponding doped CuO-ZrO 2 catalysts were prepared via a salicylic acid-assisted sol-gel method. The effects of heteroatom doping on the structure, acidity, redox properties and catalytic performance were systematically studied. The results showed that Cl, S and P doping effectively tuned the catalyst structure, active species dispersion and surface Lewis/Brønsted acid sites, which exerted a meaningful influence on catalytic performance of catalysts in the degradation of VOCs pollutants. In addition, compared with the undoped CuZrO, Cl-CuZrO exhibited the highest catalytic performance for degradation of toluene, chlorobenzene and p-chlorotoluene, indicating that the CuO-ZrO 2 catalyst system possessed excellent chlorine resistance. Meanwhile, S-CuZrO showed comparable performance to CuZrO, which demonstrated that the CuO-ZrO 2 catalysts had a certain degree of sulfur resistance. Through the design and optimization of heteroatom doping, this work provided valuable insights for enhancing the catalytic efficiency and structure stability of CuO-ZrO 2 based catalysts.
