Microwave dielectric properties of rock salt structured LiMg6GaO8 ceramics and their applications in DRA array
LiMg 6 GaO 8 ceramics were synthesized via solid-state reaction method. Systematic investigation reveals that samples sintered at 1260 °C demonstrate exceptional microwave dielectric properties (MDPs): ε r = 10.82, Q×f = 123,083 GHz, and τ f = −22.76 ppm/°C. P-V-L theory analysis indicates that Mg-O bonds dominate lattice energy (72.6 %), while Ga-O bonds contribute most to ionicity (35.7 %). Based on these excellent MDPs, the designed array dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) achieves significant gain and radiation efficiency. The unit DRA delivers performance with 5.78 dBi gain and more than 90 % radiation efficiency. Its breakthrough two-element array DRA boosts gain to 6.39 dBi, providing an improvement over conventional designs while maintaining high radiation efficiency.
