Lightweight, ultrathin, and absorption-dominated electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials are highly desired to alleviate secondary electromagnetic pollution caused by conventional reflection-dominated shielding materials. Herein, Fe(acac) 3 -assisted PAN-derived porous carbon membranes were fabricated through nonsolvent-induced phase separation (NIPS), freeze-drying, and high-temperature carbonization to achieve efficient absorption-dominated EMI shielding performance. The interconnected porous conductive carbon framework facilitated the dissipation of incident electromagnetic waves by providing continuous conductive channels and abundant internal scattering interfaces. Different Fe(acac) 3 contents were introduced to evaluate their influence on graphitization degree, electrical conductivity, and EMI shielding performance. Notably, with only 1 wt% Fe(acac) 3 loading, the obtained C-P-P/AcFe-2 membrane with a thickness of only 0.42 mm exhibited the best overall shielding performance, including an electrical conductivity of 7.12 S mm −1 , exhibiting an average EMI shielding effectiveness of 94.9 dB and a corresponding SE A value of 80.2 dB in the X-band. The SE A /SE R ratio reached 5.5, indicating obvious absorption-dominated shielding behavior. Meanwhile, the SSE t value reached 4013.4 dB cm 2 g −1 , demonstrating its lightweight shielding capability. This work provides a feasible approach for developing lightweight, ultrathin, low-filler-loading, and absorption-dominated EMI shielding materials. Carbon-based materials have been recognized as a promising method to eliminate electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and electromagnetic (EM) wave absorption. However, developing lightweight, ultrathin, and efficient EM wave-shielding and wave-absorbing materials remains a challenge. Herein, a series of magnetic porous carbon composite films with a hierarchical network structure were fabricated via pyrolysis of porous polyimide (PI) films containing magnetic metallic salts of Fe(acac)3 and Ni(acac)2. After pyrolysis, the obtained uniform porous carbon films (CFs) possess a favorable EMI-shielding efficiency (SE) of 46 dB in the X-band with a thickness of ∼0.3 mm. In addition, a higher EMI SE of 58 dB can be achieved by increasing the thickness of the porous CF-20Ni to 0.53 mm. Moreover, the CF-20Ni composites also present effective EM wave-absorbing performance of RLmin = – 30.2 dB with a loading amount of 20 wt % at 13.0 GHz owing to the hierarchically conductive carbon skeleton, magnetic Ni nanoparticles, and dielectric interlaced carbon nanotube cluster within the micropores. These novel lightweight and ultrathin porous CFs are expected to be attractive candidates for efficient EM wave absorption and EMI shielding.

Combination therapy could significantly improve the therapeutic effect of tumors. However, due to the lack of reasonable integration of different treatment modes, it is difficult to maximize the effect of combination treatment. To solve this problem, by adjusting the dosage of NH4F/NaOH, we developed NaTmF4:0.5%Er3+@NaLuF4 upconversion nanoparticles with strong near-infrared luminescence. On this basis, nanocarriers (USFH-CI) encapsulated with high-loading (33.35%) Fe(acac)3, wrapped by human serum albumin, and grafted with cinnamic aldehyde (CA) and the IR780 photosensitizer were constructed. The dense extracellular matrix (ECM) in tumor tissues prevented the drug from diffusing into the tumors. Once USFH-CI nanocarriers were delivered to the tumor area, CA pH-responsively released H2O2, which promoted photothermal therapy (PTT) and photodynamic therapy (PDT) of IR780 driven by upconversion luminescence. A large number of reactive oxygen species (ROS) were generated, which led to the disintegration of the ECM and penetration into the tumors. Then, abundant Fe3+ consumed GSH to generate ample GSSG and Fe2+, which enhanced the sensitivity of tumor cells to oxidative stress, thus leading to the accumulation of lipid peroxide (LPO) and finally inducing ferroptosis. At the same time, substantial H2O2 and Fe2+ triggered off the Fenton-like reaction, releasing affluent free radicals. Beyond that, PTT of IR780 further promoted the Fenton-like reaction, and the generation of ROS was amplified. Free radicals generated in the process of ferroptosis destroyed heat shock protein produced by PTT, which solved the self-protection of cancer cells against heat. In situ ROS generation by the PTT/PDT of IR780 and the Fe2+ Fenton-like reaction further promoted the accumulation of LPO and ferroptosis as well as deep penetration, which maximized the effect of combination treatment and achieved a high tumor inhibition rate (84.71%). Also, there was negligible damage to normal tissues with good tumor targeting and digestive metabolism.
