Flusilazole is a triazole fungicide with residues that are potentially toxic to humans. It enters the human body mainly through food, although its bactericidal activity is substantial. In this study, an electrochemical sensor Fe/Fe 2 O 3 @C with a core–shell structure was constructed to efficiently detect flusilazole by annealing MIL-53(Fe) which was prepared by a simple solvothermal method. Transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy were used to characterize the apparent morphology of MIL-53(Fe) and Fe/Fe 2 O 3 @C , and their structures were further characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, and the mapping of elements by energy dispersive spectroscopy. The electrochemical behavior of Fe/Fe 2 O 3 @C in the detection of flusilazole was evaluated by differential pulse voltammetry under optimal conditions. The results of the study indicate that the Fe/Fe 2 O 3 @C electrochemical sensor displayed excellent detection capabilities for flusilazole, where the sensor exhibited a wide detection range from 1.00 × 10 −4 to 1.00 × 10 −12 mol/L with an incredibly low LOD of 593 fM, making it highly sensitive to trace amounts of flusilazole. Moreover, Fe/Fe 2 O 3 @C demonstrated superior reproducibility, stability, and resistance to interference, highlighting its reliability in practical applications. The sensor was also successfully utilized to quantitatively detect flusilazole in various real samples, which suggests that Fe/Fe 2 O 3 @C has broad-spectrum environmental resistance and can effectively and rapidly detect flusilazole residues in different types of food items and environmental matrices. The study also delved into the mechanism of Fe/Fe 2 O 3 @C for the detection of flusilazole, providing a deeper understanding of the functionality of this sensor. Overall, these findings emphasize the practical significance of Fe/Fe 2 O 3 @C as an electrochemical sensor, showcasing its potential for real-world applications in food safety and environmental monitoring.

We developed an on-site surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensor for rapid detection of difenoconazole (DIF) and flusilazole (FLU) in environmental water. The substrate combines gold nanostars (AuNSs) with covalent organic frameworks (COF) and is implemented on a portable round 20-well quartz plate, enabling in situ testing. After a simple filtration process, environmental water can be directly dripped onto the SERS-active AuNSs/COF composite, thereby simultaneously achieving the adsorption of the target compound and SERS detection. There is a good linear relationship between the SERS intensity of the characteristic peak and the logarithmic concentration of the analyte, with correlation coefficients (R 2 ) from 0.923 to 0.986, meeting the monitoring needs of non-laboratory scenarios. The entire workflow completes within 9 min, offering a faster alternative to conventional methods while maintaining high sensitivity and reproducibility. Detection limits reach 0.88–1.17 ppb for DIF and FLU. Distinct SERS fingerprints enable reliable discrimination of mixed pesticides across environmental water, supporting rapid on-site monitoring and cost-effective pesticide surveillance. Graphical

•AuNPs-modified COF on a portable 25-well plate for testing DIF and FLU residues. • •Integration of adsorption and SERS functions for streamlined analyses. • • Portable, on-site detection system enabling field-ready pesticide monitoring. • • Ready-to-use, pretreatment-free SERS assay delivering real-time results. We developed a ready-to-use surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) sensor for rapid, pretreatment-free detection of difenoconazole (DIF) and flusilazole (FLU) in peach and lychee juices. The substrate combines Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) with covalent organic frameworks (COF) and is implemented on a portable 25-well plate, enabling in situ testing. Juices can be directly applied to the SERS-active Au/COF composite, allowing simultaneous adsorption and signal generation. The correlation between SERS intensity and logarithmic concentration yielded R-values between 0.925 and 0.986, meeting the monitoring needs of non-laboratory scenarios. The entire workflow completes within 12 min, offering a faster alternative to conventional methods while maintaining high sensitivity and reproducibility. Detection limits reach 0.96–1.22 ppb for DIF and FLU, both of which are below the regulatory maximum residue limits. Distinct SERS fingerprints enable reliable discrimination of mixed residues across juice matrices, supporting rapid on-site monitoring and cost-effective pesticide surveillance. Cellulose nanofibers (CNF) coated with inorganic nanoparticles are novel hybrid nanocomposites that have great potential in various areas including agriculture and food science. The objectives of this study were to synthesize nanocomposites consisted of CNF coated with silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), which can be used as a surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) platform for measuring pesticides in Oolong tea. CNF were coated with AgNPs to form uniform CNF-AgNP nanocomposites that were investigated by transmission electron microscopy. Three-dimensional and porous CNF structures were loaded with AgNPs with an average size of 41 nm. CNF-AgNP substrates were applied in characterization and measurement of flusilazole in Oolong tea samples by SERS. A detection limit of 0.5 mg/kg for flusilazole was obtained based on partial least squares (PLS) regression analysis. These results indicate that CNF-AgNP nanocomposites combined with SERS is an accurate, sensitive, and efficient technique for identification and quantification of pesticide residues in Oolong tea.
