The back interface issues including numerous defects and imperfect contact, mismatched energy level are regarded as the key detrimental factors causing serious charge recombination and energy loss ( E loss ) and inferior charge extraction to achieve high efficiency Hole transport materials-free (HTMs-free) carbon-based Perovskite solar cells (PSCs). To address this drawback, an effective interface engineering via depositing N, N'-Dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC) at PVSK/Carbon back interface is creatively implemented to passivate CsPbBr 3 surface defects through forming interaction between N atoms with lone pair electrons and uncoordinated ions (eg Pb 2+ and Cs + ions) to suppress the defect states induced non-radiative recombination and E loss . Concurrently, the smoothness and valence band of PVSK film with DCC modification are increased to improve the contact and band alignment at back interface, respectively, remarkably accelerating hole extraction and transportation and also reducing E loss as well as charge recombination. As a result, the comprehensive performance of DCC interface modified HTMs-free carbon-based CsPbBr 3 PSCs is significantly enhanced, especially the champion efficiency boosts to 10.16% from 6.60% of the control PSC. Furthermore, owing to the enhanced hydrophobicity and decreased imperfections of PVSK film with DCC modification, the optimized device without any encapsulation displays an excellent long-term stability under 85% RH air condition at 85 °C over 1200 h.

To fabricate a superhydrophobic and durable coating, non-fluorine siloxane solution for the coating was successfully synthesized via a facile one-pot method. The wetting properties and morphology of coatings with different concentration and adding time of additives were studied. Under condition of low water content, the coatings’ superhydrophobicity was improved with the increasing amount of ammonia content, water content, and low-surface-energy material (HTMS) content. However, too more ammonia or water or HTMS would sacrifice the coating’s integrality and lead to the cracking of it. The obtained coatings showed good superhydrophobicity and anti-UV property on plain and even curved substrates, including glass, metal, and polymer. Contact angle and sliding angle of the coating could reach 158° and 1.8°, respectively. What is more, coating on PET filter could be used for oil/water separation with an efficiency of 80%.
The high-quality perovskite film with reduced defect states and released lattice strain is crucial to the performance development of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Herein, carbon quantum dots with bromine functional groups (Br-CQDs) are firstly synthesized and creatively employed as additive and buried interface modifier to enhance perovskite film quality. Arising from the strong anchor binding of bromine and oxygen-containing groups in Br-CQDs with uncoordinated Pb 2+ and Cs + ions within perovskite and the insertion of Br-CQDs into perovskite lattice, the incorporation of Br-CQDs exerting the role of an “adhesive” can not only effectively retard nucleation and growth processes, heal defect states and release lattice strain of perovskite film, but also regulate interfaces energy level. As a result, the charge recombination and energy loss inside PSCs are evidently suppressed thanks to the resultant high-quality perovskite film and more matching interfaces energy level. Finally, the hole-free PSC achieves an exciting PCE up to 10.79% with an ultrahigh V OC of 1.651 V, which is to date the highest efficiency and V OC for the mesoporous all-inorganic CsPbBr 3 PSCs without hole transport materials. Furthermore, the optimized PSCs display a superior long-term stability under air conditions with 85% RH at 85 °C and continuous illumination.
