Functionalized poly ( p -phenylene-2, 6-benzobisoxazole) ( f -PBO) fibers were firstly obtained by introducing polydopamine (PDA) and 3-GlycidoxypropyltriMethoxysilane (KH-560), then performed to fabricate the f -PBO fibers/fluoride-containing bisphenol A dicyanate ester ( m -BADCy) wave-transparent laminated composites . PDA was coated on the surface of PBO fibers and KH-560 was also grafted onto the PBO fibers. And the single fiber pull-out strength of the f -PBO fibers/ m -BADCy micro-composites was increased from 3.2 MPa (PBO fibers/BADCy) to 4.0 MPa. Interlaminar shear strength (ILSS) and flexural strength of the f -PBO fibers/ m -BADCy composites was also enhanced to 49.5 MPa and 652.2 MPa, increased by 39.8% and 12.1%, compared with that of PBO fibers/BADCy composites (ILSS of 35.4 MPa and flexural strength of 582.0 MPa), respectively. The corresponding ε and tanδ was decreased to 2.86 and 5.7 × 10 -3 , declined by 6.5% and 23.0%, compared with that of PBO fibers/BADCy composites ( ε of 3.06 and tanδ of 7.4 × 10 -3 ), respectively.

The surfaces of SiO2 ultra-fine particles with different sizes have been modified by γ-(2, 3-epoxypropoxy)propytrimethoxysilane (KH-560) silane coupling agent. Then the homogeneous fluoropolymer/SiO2 composite coatings have been successfully prepared on mild steel substrates. The surface grafting of KH-560 on SiO2 particles was detected by means of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermo gravimetric analysis and transmission electron microscopy. The surface morphologies and corrosion resistance of fluoropolymer/SiO2 composite coatings were characterised by field emission scanning electron microscopy, potentiodynamic polarisation as well as electrochemical impedance. The results showed that KH-560-modified SiO2 particles can decrease agglomeration effectively, and the particles play a beneficial role in improving the corrosion resistance of the coated steel significantly. There exists an obvious effect of SiO2 particles size on the corrosion resistance of fluoropolymer/SiO2 composite coatings. Also, the SiO2 particles with diameter of 150 nm are of the best effect among all particle sizes.

Hierarchical nano-ZSM-5 zeolites (Z5-X) with different grain sizes were synthesized by varying amounts of 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (KH-560) in the hydrothermal synthesis strategy. Moreover, the conventional ZSM-5zeolite(Z5), which was prepared without KH-560, was used as the reference sample. The crystalline phases, morphologies, porous characteristics, Si/Al molar ratios and acidic properties of all fresh catalysts were characterized using the X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectra (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), N2 adsorption–desorption, inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP) and temperature programmed desorption of ammonia (NH3-TPD) techniques. Results show that the grain size and strong acid amount of zeolite decreased with the increasing amount of KH-560. The micropore surface areas and the corresponding volume of Z5-X changed less compared with Z5. Consequently, the high shape-selectivity of zeolite was preserved well under the addition of KH-560. However, the mesopore surface areas and the corresponding volume increased significantly with the increasing amount of KH-560. Benefiting from the abundant hierarchical structure, the Z5-X catalysts exhibited a larger coke capacity than the Z5 catalyst. The coke depositions of all the deactivated catalysts were characterized by the thermogravimetric technique (TG), and the results are indicative of the decreased average rate of coke deposition with an increasing amount of KH-560, which could result from the gradually reduced strong acid amount and the nano-sized crystallites. The catalytic performance of methanol-to-aromatics (MTA) indicates that the Z5-0.12 catalyst exhibited higher catalytic activity and selectivity of BTX as the reaction was prolonged, which could result from the synergistic effect among the proper strong acid amount, the smaller zeolite grain size, and the abundant hierarchical structure.

To improve the weak interaction between poly (butylene adipate‐co‐terephthalate) (PBAT) and poly (lactic acid) (PLA) blends, this study added modified metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) to enhance the interfacial bonding strength between PBAT and PLA. MOF-5 nanoparticles were synthesized by room temperature synthesis and modified with KH-560. PBAT/PLA/KH-560@MOF films were prepared by solvent casting. The microscopic morphology, mechanical properties, thermal properties, hydrophobicity, water vapor transmission rate and antimicrobial properties of the composite films were investigated. The results showed that KH-560@MOF nanoparticles were uniformly dispersed in the polymer matrix of PBAT and PLA, reducing phase interface defects. Mechanical properties of PLA/PBAT improved in the presence of KH-560@MOF. The breaking elongation and tensile strength values were maximized when adding 1 wt% KH-560@MOF. Doping of KH-560@MOF improves hydrophobicity and water vapor transmission rate of films. Zn 2+ in MOF-5 imparts antimicrobial properties to the film, showing antimicrobial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative food-borne pathogens (i.e., E. coli and S.aureus ). This work enriched the design of compatibilizer for the PLA/PBAT blend and provided a novel approach for expanding the application of MOFs.

Mitigating energy loss and corrosion in steel structures demands advanced protective coatings. Here we report a high-performance composite coating based on magnesium potassium phosphate cement (MKPC), integrated with titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) and hollow glass microspheres (HGMs). A key innovation is the surface modification of HGMs with a silane coupling agent (KH560) to resolve their inherent interfacial incompatibility with the inorganic matrix. Comprehensive characterization confirms successful grafting of KH560, which fundamentally enhances filler-matrix interaction. The resulting coating exhibits significantly improved near-infrared reflectance due to the uniform dispersion of modified HGMs. Furthermore, micro-mechanical assessment reveals superior properties, including enhanced scratch hardness and elastic recovery, directly attributable to effective interfacial load transfer. Crucially, the incorporation of KH560-HGMs optimizes composite rheology, reducing both shear stress and apparent viscosity to ensure excellent sprayability. Microstructural analysis confirms a dense coating where modified HGMs act as nucleation sites for k-struvite, reinforcing the matrix. This interface engineering strategy provides a robust and generalizable route to durable, multifunctional MKPC-based coatings with tailored performance for sustainable infrastructure.

Hollow Co x Fe 3-x O 4 nanocontainers were loaded with SDBS and sealed by KH-560. • Nanocontainers participated in MAO growth and regulated discharge defects. • The specific wear rate of MAO-1 decreased by 95.8% compared with MAO-0. • MAO-1 showed the best corrosion resistance with superior electrochemical properties. • SVET confirmed corrosion-responsive inhibitor release and self-healing protection. The intrinsic porosity and microcracks inherent to micro-arc oxidation (MAO) coatings create preferential diffusion paths for corrosive species, thereby limiting the long-term corrosion protection of magnesium alloys. In this work, hollow mesoporous Co x Fe 3-x O 4 nanocontainers were synthesized via a cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) assisted solvothermal method, loaded with sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (SDBS) as a corrosion inhibitor, sealed with KH-560 silane coupling agent, and subsequently incorporated into MAO coatings on AZ31B magnesium alloy. The nanocontainers participated in coating formation through pore filling and co-solidification with molten oxides. Moderate addition refined discharge pores and improved coating integrity, whereas excessive addition caused particle agglomeration and inhomogeneity. At the optimal concentration of 1 g·L -1 , MAO-1 exhibited the greatest coating thickness (37.96 μm). MAO-1 exhibited the highest coating resistance ( R c = 2.40×10 7 Ω·cm 2 ) and charge-transfer resistance ( R ct =1.77×10 6 Ω·cm 2 ), together with the lowest corrosion current density (2.85×10 -9 A·cm -2 ). Its specific wear rate was reduced to 2.56×10 −6 mm 3 ·N -1 ·m -1 , which is 95.8% lower than that of MAO-0. Scanning vibrating electrode technique (SVET) measurements further confirmed corrosion-responsive self-healing behavior in MAO-1: after 12 h of immersion, the maximum local potential-difference signal decreased from 0.0105 to 0.0042 mV, representing a 66.1% reduction compared to MAO-0. The progressive attenuation of local electrochemical activity indicates that the release, migration, and interfacial adsorption of SDBS effectively suppress localized anodic dissolution and partially restore protection at damaged regions. Overall, the Co x Fe 3-x O 4 @SDBS@KH-560 nanocontainers synergistically combine barrier reinforcement with inhibitor-mediated active protection, thereby enhancing the corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and self-healing capability of the MAO coating.
