Novel nanocubic KTi2(PO4)3 was successfully fabricated via a facile hydrothermal method combined with a subsequent annealing treatment and further evaluated as an electrode material for potassium-ion batteries for the first time. For comparison, carbon-coated KTi2(PO4)3 obtained by a normal cane sugar-assisted method reveals improved electrochemical performances in potassium-ion batteries. This work may give a new insight into developing electrode materials for potassium-ion batteries.
NASICON type KTi 2 (PO 4 ) 3 decorated by NTCDA-derived carbon layer (KTP/NC) was prepared as anode material to obtain sustainable lithium/sodium ion storage (LIBs/SIBs). Due to its prominent capacitance, good electronic conductivity and ability to constrain volume, the KTP/NC composite realizes highly electrochemical kinetics both in LIBs and SIBs . For LIBs, the KTP/NC composite delivers a superior reversible capacity of 598.1 mAh g −1 after 200 cycles at 0.5C, impressive cyclability with 225.5 mAh g −1 after 3000 cycles at an ultrahigh current density of 26.1 C and conspicuous rate performance of 160.6 mAh g −1 even at 52.2 C. In addition, the composite has a wide operation-temperature window with favorable capacities of 147.1–372.9 mAh g −1 from −10 °C to 50 °C. As for SIBs, the KTP/NC composite maintains a stable discharge capacity of 112.5 mAh g −1 after 700 cycles at a current density of 2.6 C and conspicuous rate performance of 86.7 mAh g −1 at 5.2 C. The KTP/NC anode exhibits discharge capacities of 29.9–112.6 mAh g −1 from −10 °C to 40 °C. The results demonstrate that the KTP/NC composite would be a promising electrode material for LIBs and SIBs.

A novel cubic KTi 2 (PO 4 ) 3 is successfully synthesized via a facile hydrothermal method combined with a subsequent annealing treatment and further used as electrode material for sodium-ion batteries for the first time. For comparison, carbon-coated KTi 2 (PO 4 ) 3 obtained by a normal cane sugar-assisted method reveals superior electrochemical performances in sodium-ion battery. Besides of the high coulombic efficiency of nearly 100% after 100 cycles, a stable capacity of 112 mA h g −1 can be achieved at 0.5 C after 100 cycles, and still maintains to 105 mA h g −1 after 500 cycles with capacity retention of approximately 90%.

A MIL-53(Al)@KTi 2 (PO 4 ) 3 @rGO was successfully synthesized through hydrothermal and modified Hummers' methods. • The integration of porous MIL-53(Al) and conductive rGO enhanced charge transport and electroactive site accessibility. • The MIL-53(Al)@KTi 2 (PO 4 ) 3 @rGO electrode delivered a high specific capacity of 1189.23C g −1 . • The hybrid SC achieved an energy density of 45 Wh kg −1 and a power density of 2773 W kg −1 . • The ternary electrode showed a low overpotential of 46 mV and a Tafel slope of 49 mV dec −1 . The rising requirement of sustainable and multifunctional electrodes for energy storage and production has stimulated significant interest in advanced electrode architectures. In this study, a MIL-53(Al)@KTi 2 (PO 4 ) 3 @rGO composite was fabricated by means of combined hydrothermal and modified Hummers approach. The composite was rationally designed by integrating the MIL-53(Al), the favorable ionic transport characteristics of NASICON-type KTi 2 (PO 4 ) 3 , and the highly conductive network of rGO, there by promoting efficient charge and ion transport. Electrochemical evaluation in a three-electrode cell demonstrated a high specific capacity of 1189.23C g −1 . When assembled into a two-electrode supercapacitor device, the material delivered an energy density of 45 Wh kg −1 at a power density of 2773 W kg −1 . The device also maintained 92% of its initial capacity with a Coulombic efficiency of 97% after 10,000 consecutive charge–discharge cycles, indicating strong electrochemical durability. In addition to its energy storage performance, the MIL-53(Al)@KTi 2 (PO 4 ) 3 @rGO electrode demonstrated promising catalytic activity for the hydrogen evolution reaction, requiring only 46 mV overpotential to achieve the targeted current density and exhibiting a Tafel slope of 49 mV dec −1 . These results highlight the synergistic contribution of the MOF, NASICON phosphate, and rGO components and establish MIL-53(Al)@KTi 2 (PO 4 ) 3 @rGO as a promising multifunctional platform for advanced supercapacitor systems and electrocatalytic hydrogen production.
