In this work, we have synthesized hexapods AgCl crystals with mace pods for the first time. Diallyldimethylammonium chloride (DDA)-controlled stepwise evolution of AgCl crystals from octahedron to hexapods with mace pods are achieved by one-pot method. The intermediates have been captured which show the basic process of crystal growth. In this process, octahedra AgCl crystals firstly grow along the <100> direction and then change to grow in the <110> direction. At the same time, the size of AgCl grow from 2 μm to 20 μm. Due to the poor absorption of visible light by AgCl, sodium borohydride(NaBH4) is used to reduce AgCl hexapods with mace pods crystals. By changing the mole ratio(R) of NaBH4to AgCl, the new structure was reduced to obtain a series of Ag@AgCl microstructures. Visible light catalysis effects of the Ag@AgCl microstructures on degradation of methyl orange (MO) were investigated. The Ag@AgCl microstructures with R = 0.02 have a high photocatalytic performance, which completely degrades MO in 40 min. Keywords:hexapod AgCl;one-pot method;Ag@AgCl microstructure;MO degradation
In the photocatalytic process, mixed-phase TiO 2 tends to have more carrier transport channels compared with single-phase TiO 2 , which can further accelerate the separation of photogenerated carriers. In this study, biphasic TiO 2 nanofibers containing both rutile and anatase phases were synthesized by electrostatic spinning technique. Subsequently, a variety of biphasic TiO 2 /Ag 3 PO 4 nanofiber photocatalytic materials with different ratios were prepared by combining the in situ growth process. The test results confirm that not only heterojunctions are formed between the components of the composites, but also the optical properties are improved. When the content of Ag 3 PO 4 was 25 wt%, the composite showed excellent photocatalytic activity for both rhodamine B (RHB) and methyl orange (MO). In addition, the main active substances and stability of the composite were investigated by doing active agent capture experiments and stability tests, and a reasonable photocatalytic mechanism was proposed on the basis of the relevant test results.

The construction of a heterojunction and the introduction of a cocatalyst can both promote the transfer of photogenerated electrons, which are effective strategies to enhance photocatalytic efficiency. In this paper, a ternary RGO/g-C3N4/LaCO3OH composite was synthesized by constructing a g-C3N4/LaCO3OH heterojunction and introducing a non-noble metal cocatalyst RGO through hydrothermal reactions. TEM, XRD, XPS, UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, photo-electrochemistry and PL tests were carried out to characterize the structures, morphologies and carrier separation efficiencies of products. Benefiting from the boosted visible light absorption capability, reduced charge transfer resistance and facilitated photogenerated carrier separation, the visible light photocatalytic activity of the ternary RGO/g-C3N4/LaCO3OH composite was effectively improved, resulting in a much increased MO (methyl orange) degradation rate of 0.0326 min−1 compared with LaCO3OH (0.0003 min−1) and g-C3N4 (0.0083 min−1). Moreover, by combining the results of the active species trapping experiment with the bandgap structure of each component, the mechanism of the MO photodegradation process was proposed.
