Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and infrared stealth technologies are essential for military and civilian applications. However, it remains a significant challenge to integrate various functions efficiently into a material efficiently. Herein, a minimalist strategy to fabricate multifunctional phase change organohydrogels (PCOHs) was proposed, which were fabricated from polyacrylamide (PAM) organohydrogels, MXene/PEDOT:PSS hybrid fillers, and sodium sulfate decahydrate (Na2SO4·10H2O, SSD) via one-step photoinitiation strategies. PCOHs with a high enthalpy value (130.7 J/g) and encapsulation rate (98%) could adjust the temperature by triggering a phase change of SSD, which can hide infrared radiation to achieve medium-low temperature infrared stealth. In addition, the PCOH-based sensor has good strain sensing ability due to the incorporation of MXene/PEDOT:PSS and can precisely monitor human movement. Remarkably, benefiting from the electron conduction of the three-dimensional conductive network and the ion conduction of the hydrogel, the EMI shielding efficiency (k) of PCOHs can reach 99.99% even the filler content as low as 1.8 wt %. Additionally, EMI shielding, infrared stealth, and sensing-integrated PCOHs can be adhered to arbitrary targets due to their excellent flexibility and adaptability. This work offers a promising pathway for fabricating multifunctional phase change materials, which show great application prospects in military and civilian fields.

The development of a multifunctional conductive film to meet the requirements of flexibility, high-strength and exceptional electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding capacity in the electronic devices has attracted extensive attention. A strategy of hydrogel-induced ultra-fast protonation was proposed for preparing aramid nanofibers-transition metal carbonitrides-poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (ANF-MXene-PEDOT:PSS) conductive films. The ultra-fast protonation process would induce the formation of ultra-long molecular chains and the reconstruction of cross-linking networks to enhance the mechanical properties of films. The ultimate tensile strength of ANF-MXene-PEDOT:PSS (60%) film reached 233.6 MPa, showing an increase of 189.5%. Meanwhile, the encapsulation of conductive PEDOT:PSS layer effectively addressed the issues of the brittleness and highly oxidization susceptibility of MXene. The EMI shielding effectiveness of ANF-MXene-PEDOT:PSS (60%) film reached 45.7–48.2 dB from 8.2 to 26.7 GHz at a thickness of 36 μm. After a month for exposing to air, the EMI shielding capability of ANF-MXene-PEDOT:PSS (60%) film still remained stable (> 42.5 dB). This hybrid film also exhibited high conductivity (264.7 S·cm −1 ), self-cleaning, fire retardancy and joule heating properties, which was as an intelligent sensor to realize the real-time monitoring of human physiological signals. This work paves the way for large-scale production of next-generation high-performance EMI shielding films, demonstrating huge potential in electromagnetic protection, thermal management and intelligent wearable devices. The main challenge in manufacturing an ionic actuator of large bending displacement and great response sensitivity is to design a flexible electrode with great electrochemical characteristics and conductivity. This research reports the MXene-PEDOT:PSS/AgNWs (MPA) electrode with a three-dimensional (3D) network structure formed by a hybrid method of the one-dimensional (1D) silver nanowires (AgNWs) and the two-dimensional (2D) Ti3C2Tx MXene. Here, a soft actuator based on the ionic cross-linked hybrid electrode was designed. The results show that the MPA electrode-based soft actuator achieves a large bending strain (0.48%, ±0.5 V sine voltage), wide frequency (0.1–10 Hz), 5 h durability (91.9% retention), fast response time (≈5 s), great power density (7.53 kW m–3), and great energy density (18.83 kJ m–3). These excellent performances contribute to the 3D structure of electrodes formed by MXene and AgNWs creating an unhindered ion channel, which facilitates short diffusion and rapid injection of ions and provides higher capacitance and mechanical integrity. This 3D network layered structure hybrid electrode provides an opportunity for the development of ultralow-voltage-drivable artificial muscles.

In this work, TiO2-MXene/poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) composite was utilized as an electrode material for the sensitive electrochemical detection of baicalein. The in-situ growth of TiO2nanoparticles on the surface of MXene nanosheets can effectively prevent their aggregation, thus presenting a significantly large specific surface area and abundant active sites. However, the partial oxidation of MXene after calcination could reduce its conductivity. To address this issue, herein, PEDOT:PSS films were introduced to disperse the TiO2-MXene materials. The uniform and dense films of PEDOT:PSS not only improved the conductivity and dispersion of TiO2-MXene but also enhanced its stability and electrocatalytic activity. With the advantages of a composite material, TiO2-MXene/PEDOT:PSS as an electrode material demonstrated excellent electrochemical sensing ability for baicalein determination, with a wide linear response ranging from 0.007 to 10.0 μM and a lower limit of detection of 2.33 nM. Furthermore, the prepared sensor displayed good repeatability, reproducibility, stability and selectivity, and presented satisfactory results for the determination of baicalein in human urine sample analysis.Keywords:TiO2-MXene;oxygen vacancy;PEDOT:PSS;baicalein;electrochemical sensor

High-performance wearable electronics are highly desirable for the development of body warming and human health monitoring devices. In the present study, high electrically conductive and photothermal cotton yarns (CYs) with long-term stability were prepared as wearable electronics. The process contains back-to-back decoration of the fiber surface by Ti 3 C 2 T x (MXene) nanosheets, and the poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT: PSS) composite, to form a core–shell structure (MP@CY). The addition of a small amount of PEDOT: PSS plays a dual role of protecting the MXene from oxidation and increasing the electrical conductivity. The resulting yarn exhibits excellent electrical conductivity (21.8 Ω cm −1 ), rapid electrothermal response, and superb photothermal conversion capability, supporting its application as an optical/electrical dual-drive heater. A three-dimensional (3D) honeycomb-like textile wearable heater based on MP@CY as weft yarn demonstrates outstanding electrical thermal properties (0–2.5 V, 30–196.8 °C) and exceptional photothermal conversion (130 mW cm −2 , 64.2 °C). Using an Internet of Things (IoT) microcontroller and Espressif (ESP) electronics chip, which are combined with wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) and smartphone, real-time visualization and precise control of the temperature interface can be achieved. Furthermore, MP@CY-based knitted sensors, obtained by hand-knitting, are utilized for monitoring human movement and health, exhibiting high sensitivity and long-term cycling stability. Flexible micro-supercapacitors (FSCs), with their outstanding flexibility and low weight, offer great potential for a wide range of applications in the field of flexible electronics. Herein, the few-layer Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene hybridized with commercial PEDOT:PSS dispersion are used as ink for aerosol jet printing (AJP) to fabricate interdigitated and double-helix electrodes on 2D polyethylene terephthalate (PET) films and 1D thermoplastic polyurethane fibers, respectively. By controlling the evaporation behavior of aerosol microdroplets during the printing process, a transformation from 2D Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene nanosheets to 3D wrinkled spherical structures on the surface of the flexible substrate is achieved, which increases the accessibility of ions to the electrochemical active sites. In addition, the introduction of PEDOT:PSS as a “bridge” connecting the Ti 3 C 2 T x MXene-wrinkled spheres not only enhances the electronic conductivity within the electrode but also improves the bending stability of the electrode. Consequently, the optimized MXene/PEDOT:PSS-based planar and fiber-architectured FSCs exhibit excellent areal capacitance and flexible stability. This work highlights the significant potential of AJP technology in developing electronic devices with fascinating functionalities on various flexible substrates.

MXene aerogels with a porous microstructure are a promising electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding material due to its low density and excellent electrical conductivity, which has attracted widespread attention. Compared with traditional EMI shielding materials that rely on reflection as the primary mechanism, MXene aerogels with absorption as the dominant mechanism have greater potential for development as a novel EMI shielding material because of its ability to reduce environmental contamination from reflected electromagnetic (EM) waves from materials. In this study, a novel Ti3C2Tx MXene/PEDOT:PSS hybrid aerogel was presented by freeze-drying and thermal annealing using few-layered Ti3C2Tx MXene and the conductive polymer poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS). PEDOT:PSS not only improved the gelling ability of Ti3C2Tx but also successfully established a conductive bridge between MXene nanosheets. The experimental results demonstrated that the hybrid aerogel exhibited an obvious porous microstructure, which was beneficial for the multiple scattering of EM waves within the materials. The EMI shielding effectiveness and specific shielding effectiveness reached up to 59 dB and 10,841 dB·cm2·g–1, respectively, while the SER/SET ratio value was only 0.05, indicating superior wave absorption performance. Furthermore, the good impedance matching, due to the electrical conductance loss and polarization loss effect of the composites, plays a critical role in their excellent wave absorption and EMI shielding performance. Therefore, this work provides a practical approach for designing and fabricating lightweight absorption-dominated EMI shielding materials.

To overcome the difficulty of forming stable and continuous conductive pathways of MXene in conventional electrospinning systems, we develop a high-performance flexible pressure sensor featuring a synergistic embedded–coated dual conductive architecture. A TPU/PCL nanofiber membrane uniformly incorporating MXene is fabricated via one-step electrospinning, followed by PEDOT:PSS dip-coating to construct an external conductive layer. Subsequent Ecoflex 00–30 encapsulation ensures mechanical integrity and maintains continuous multilevel electron-transport networks. Structural characterizations confirm the homogeneous incorporation of MXene within the nanofibers and the continuous surface coverage of PEDOT:PSS. The optimized sensor exhibits a maximum sensitivity of 7.05 kPa⁻¹ in the low-pressure region, together with a broad sensing range up to 100 kPa, enabling reliable detection across both subtle and high-pressure regimes. It further demonstrates fast dynamic response (0.11 s/0.31 s for response/recovery), a low detection limit of 50 Pa, and excellent durability over 2000 loading cycles. Demonstration tests confirm its ability to detect subtle physiological motions at different body locations, such as wrist movements and throat motions during swallowing, as well as various joint motions. Overall, this synergistic dual conductive strategy offers a promising platform for wearable health monitoring, electronic skins, and human–machine interaction.
