Advanced pressure sensors featuring high compressibility , high sensitivity, fast response time, and superior stability have attracted tremendous research attention because of their potential applications in artificial intelligence technology and wearable electronics. In this work, a robust sponge-like piezoresistive pressure sensor with remarkable elasticity and high sensitivity was fabricated by anchoring perpendicularly oriented MXene flakes on polyaniline (PANI) wrapped polymeric sponge via freeze-drying-assisted depositing strategy. Owing to the stable 3D conducting networks provided by PANI sponge and the intimate electrical contact between erected MXene flakes upon subtle deformation, good sensitivity, wide working range, low detection limit, fast response and recovery times, and excellent durability can be simultaneously obtained. Furthermore, various physiological activities (speech recognition, swallowing, joint movement, etc.) can also be detected in real-time and wireless manner by the flexible MXene/PANI sponge sensors, demonstrating their great potential in low-cost and high-performance wearable piezoresistive pressure sensing devices.

SnSe-based materials have attracted widespread attention in thermoelectrics due to their outstanding thermoelectric performance. However, the pristine and unmodified polycrystalline SnSe reveals poor electrical properties. Doping and constructing nanostructured composite architectures to produce energy filtering effect proved to be an effective method to strengthen thermoelectric performance. In this study, Ti 3 C 2 /Sn 0.98 Cd 0.02 Se composites are successfully fabricated by the solvothermal method combined with the electrostatic self-assembly method and spark plasma sintering. The phase interface introduced by incorporating Ti 3 C 2 into Sn 0.98 Cd 0.02 Se can effectively filter low-energy carriers due to its generation of energy barriers, thereby the Seebeck coefficient of x wt% Ti 3 C 2 /Sn 0.98 Cd 0.02 Se x = (0.05, 0.5, 1) samples is better than that of the pristine Sn 0.98 Cd 0.02 Se over the whole temperature range. Meanwhile, high conductivity was also obtained in 1 wt% Ti 3 C 2 /Sn 0.98 Cd 0.02 Se sample so that the high power factor of 3.31 μWcm −1 K − 2 was acquired at 773 K. Ultimately, a peak ZT value of 0.41 was obtained at 773 K, compared with pristine Sn 0.98 Cd 0.02 Se, and the thermoelectric performance improved by 24%. This study offers an available approach to efficiently enhance the thermoelectric properties of polycrystalline SnSe-based materials.

ABSTRACT The formation of segregated structure has been demonstrated as an effective strategy for achieving exceptional electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding performance at low filler loadings. However, the acquisition of polymer particles and the formation of interactions with conductive fillers remain significant challenges for polydimethylsiloxane, which are crucial to the construction of a segregated structure. In this work, MXene sheets were functionalized and assembled onto the surface of polydimethylsiloxane microspheres via hydrophobic interaction. Subsequently, functionalized MXene/polydimethylsiloxane (FMP) composites with a segregated structure were fabricated by filtration and hot-pressing. The FMP composite containing 8.22 wt.% MXene exhibited a high electrical conductivity of 99.4 S·m -1 and a satisfactory EMI shielding effectiveness/thickness (EMI SE/d) of 31.3 dB·mm -1 . Furthermore, the FMP composite demonstrated excellent reliability with over 90% retention of EMI shielding effectiveness under harsh environments such as ultra-high/low temperatures and acidic/alkaline solutions. Additionally, the photothermal conversion performance of FMP composites and the capacitive sensing performance of the sensor based on FMP composites indicated their potential for managing body temperature and monitoring human movement. Consequently, FMP composites show great promise in wearable electronics for effective electromagnetic interference shielding, thermal management and capacitive sensing.

Bulky external power supplies largely limit the continuous long-term application and miniaturization development of smart sensing devices. Here, we fabricate a flexible and wearable integrated sensing system on an electrospun all-nanofiber platform. The three parts of the sensing system are all obtained by a facile ink-based direct writing method. The resistive pressure sensor is realized by decorating MXene sheets on TPU nanofiber. And, the resistive temperature sensor is prepared by compositing MXene sheets into poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS). The thin-film zinc–air battery (ZAB) includes an interdigital zinc–air electrode that is bonded with a gel polymer electrolyte. It can supply a high open-circuit voltage of 1.39 V and a large areal capacity of 18.2 mAh cm −2 for stable and reliable power-supplying sensing parts operation. Thanks to the hydrophobic nature of TPU and open-ended micropores in the TPU nanofiber, the sensing system is waterproof, self-cleaning, and air and moisture permeable. For application, the above-mentioned functional components are seamlessly integrated into an intelligent electronic wristband, which is comfortably worn on a human wrist to monitor pulse and body temperature in real time with continuous operation of up to 4 h. By the novel design and remarkable performance, the proposed integrated all-nanofiber sensing system presents a promising solution for developing advanced multifunctional wearable electronics. Graphical Abstract We developed an integrated sensing system on a flexible and breathable thermoplastic polyurethane nanofiber platform. The sensing system is realized by a direct write technology and includes a pressure sensor, temperature sensor, and rechargeable zinc–air battery. The integrated sensing system was designed for wristbands and demonstrated to accurately detect pulse beating and skin temperature under different states for up to 4 hours of wearing.
