Eco-friendly exfoliation of two-dimensional nanosheets from their layered bulks is very attracting but still remains a big challenge. Here, we report a novel preparation route of two-dimensional nanosheets through soaking the bulk layered material in the C 2 H 4 O 3 -based chemical exfoliation system followed by microwave irradiation. This route has demonstrated the effective exfoliation of two-dimensional nanosheets (graphene nanosheets, BNNS and MoS 2 NS) from their layered bulks in a green and eco-friendly way. The average layer-number of the obtained graphene nanosheets, BNNS and MoS 2 NS is 4, 6 and 5, respectively, behaving a few-layer feature. Interestingly, when the graphene paper is prepared from the exfoliated graphene nanosheets by simple vacuum filtration and mechanical pressing, its average electrical conductivity is up to 7.36 × 10 5 S/m and the EMI SE value reaches to 61 dB, both among the highest for the graphene papers reported previously. Since there exists no serious fragmentation of layered materials during the whole exfoliation, the present exfoliation strategy is more competent in preparing the large-sized two-dimensional nanosheets over those conventional green routes.

All-solid-state lithium batteries (ASSLBs) are one of the most promising next-generation energy storage devices due to their superior safety. Nonetheless, one of the primary challenges confronting current solid-state battery designs is the contact failure associated with electrode volume expansion, which causes an increasing interface impedance and ultimately battery failure. Herein, we are dedicated to addressing the issue of volume expansion in the composite cathode during charging and discharging as well as to preventing the separation of electrodes and electrolyte. To achieve this, a two-dimensional MoS2 NS@Li7P3S11 composite cathode was fabricated through a chemical exfoliation process, followed by the in situ deposition of a Li7P3S11 electrolyte. The ultrathin nature of the MoS2 nanosheets effectively counteracts volume expansion during cycling. Concurrently, the in situ formation of the electrolyte layer precludes separation of the electrode and electrolyte components. In addition, the introduction of the metallic 1T phase obviously enhances the electronic conductivity, approximately 2 orders of magnitude higher than bulk MoS2. As a result, ASSLBs equipped with the MoS2 NS@Li7P3S11 cathode demonstrate superior structural stability along with high reversible capacity and outstanding cyclic durability.

MoS 2 , a novel inorganic graphene analogues with typical two-dimensional structure, has attracted increasing interest in various fields. MoS 2 -based hybrid plasmonic structures have been extensively investigated as higher quality surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrates. Herein, we have designed a three-dimensional (3D) MoS 2 nanospheres (NSs) based hybrid nanostructure as SERS sensor by decorating Au nanoparticles (NPs) on the surface of 3D MoS 2 -NSs (3D MoS 2 -NS@Au-NPs). 3D MoS 2 -NSs acts as (a) a stable scaffold for Au NPs decoration via microwave-irradiation hydrothermal process, (b) a chemical mechanism source for Raman enhancement, and (c) a 3D spatial structure for generation of more effective hot spots due to Au coupling effect and supply larger surface area for adsorbing probe molecules. The 3D MoS 2 -NS@Au-NPs hybrid structure exhibits 56-fold improvement on enhancement factor compared to two-dimensional MoS 2 -NST@Au-NPs hybrid structures. SERS performance was easily and effectively optimized with the tuning of the density and sizes of Au NPs. The optimized 3D MoS 2 -NS@Au-NPs was applied as SERS sensor for melamine detection in milk. Quantitative detection was realized in the range of 1 ppb–10 ppm with a linear coefficient of .997. Excellent sensitivity of 1 ppb and uniformity of 10.12% relative standard deviation was achieved, which could meet the demand for melamine detection as prescribed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Interfacial self-assembly of ordered nanostructures at oil–water interfaces towards the fabrication of nanofilms has attracted the interest of plenty of scientists, since its discovery in 2004. Herein, further developments have been achieved, and we report a new strategy for the synthesis of a three-dimensional (3D) hierarchical nanostructure, through an interfacial synthesis driven microemulsion process. Thus, the synthesis route has been simplified, with the rigorous experimental conditions of traditional compositing technology. Combined with a two-step seed-mediated growth method for preparing uniform Ag-NPs, a plasmonic 3D MoS2-NS@Ag-NP nanostructure was successfully developed as a Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) active substrate, with plenty of surface hot spots, leading to an enhancement factor (EF) of 1.2 × 108 derived from both electromagnetic mechanism (EM) and chemical mechanism (CM) effects. The 3D MoS2-NS@Ag-NP nanostructure can be applied to detect trace thiram in apple juice and local lake water, with a detection limit as low as 10 ppb (42 nM), which is much lower than the maximal residue limit (MRL) of 7 ppm in fruit prescribed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Furthermore, quantitative analysis was achieved in the range of 10 ppb–1 ppm with good homogeneity and selectivity.
