As an environmentally friendly and clean energy technology, solar-driven interfacial evaporation technology has attracted wide attention. However, organic pollutants can easily pollute distilled water during the evaporation of wastewater. In this work, we report a strategy of N-TiO2/C solar absorption with a low bandgap (2.33 eV), excellent light absorption ability, and high photothermal conversion efficiency (48.2%). Black N-TiO2/C was prepared by the sol-gel method in the presence of hexamethylenetetramine as a source of nitrogen and carbon. The simultaneous N doping and C with superior photothermal effect rapidly increased the surface temperature of the material, reduced the recombination rate of electrons and holes, and improved the photocatalytic activity, showing great potential for solar thermal energy conversion. The prepared solar absorbent and polyurethane (PU) were mixed evenly to form a porous N-TiO2/C/PU (NTCP) foam for purifying water. The evaporator produced clean water at a rate of 1.73 kg m−2h−1under the simulated sunlight of 1 sun irradiation. Meanwhile, the evaporator simultaneously photodegraded methylene blue (MB) and rhodamine B (RhB) underwater at a removal rate > 90%. The bifunctional solar water evaporation device combining photocatalytic and photothermal effects holds great potential for water purification.

Novel hollow C, N-TiO 2 @C surface molecularly imprinted microspheres (HCNTC-SMIPs) with hydrophilicity, reusability, and selectivity were synthesized. The core–shell hollow structure yields large specific surface areas, high surface-to-volume ratios and effective diffusion rate on both inner and outer exposed surfaces. The C, N-TiO 2 shell possesses high photo-catalytic decomposition capacity toward the specific pollutants. Moreover, TiO 2 acts not only as a photocatalyst but also as a double cross-linker agent of molecularly imprinted to significantly reduce the molar ratio of formaldehyde. The hydrophilic surface imprinted layer provides the recognition sites and specific pore structures. The results showed that HCNTC-SMIPs possessed a high specific surface area of 305.10 m 2 g −1 and a good visible light harvesting property with a bandgap of 1.67 eV. This could efficiently suppress the photoelectron-hole recombination, and thereby heightening the photocatalytic degradation of sulfadiazine (SDZ). The photodegradation efficiency of HCNTC-SMIPs can reach 99.25 % within 140 min and 90.00 % after 6 cycles. The HCNTC-SMIPs had a higher kinetic constant (0.01815 min −1 ) than those of HCNTC (0.00964 min −1 ) and TiO 2 (0.00548 min −1 ). HCNTC-SMIPs can achieve targeted and efficient SDZ removal, as well as in-situ regeneration. The possible degradation pathways of SDZ primarily includes smiles-type rearrangement, SO 2 extrusion, ring hydroxylation, direct oxidation and S N bond cleavage processes based on LC-MS analysis.
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is a promising anode material for lithium-ion batteries with the characteristics of highly stable structure and excellent safety, while the application is constrained by its inferior electrical conductivity and sluggish lithium-ion diffusion kinetics. Herein, H2Ti4O9 was prepared as a precursor, and it was wrapped with polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as the nitrogen and carbon sources. Then, the N-doped carbon-filled TiO2 nanocrystals (N-TiO2/C), which had a unique dragon fruit structure with TiO2 nanocrystals acting as seeds and carbon acting as the flesh, were successfully prepared from PVP-coated H2Ti4O9 by one-step heat treatment. It is noteworthy that four modification methods, including carbon filling, nanosizing, nitrogen doping, and morphological designing, are all accomplished simultaneously during this process. The N-TiO2/C composite exhibits an outstanding stable capacity of 444.6 mAh g–1 after 600 cycles at 1 A g–1, and it possesses a reversible capacity of 146.7 mAh g–1 at 5 A g–1. The superior electrochemical capacity can be attributed to the distinctive dragon fruit structure along with nitrogen doping and carbon filling. The ingenious modification strategy can extend to the investigation on the other oxide anode materials.
