NASICON type KTi 2 (PO 4 ) 3 decorated by NTCDA-derived carbon layer (KTP/NC) was prepared as anode material to obtain sustainable lithium/sodium ion storage (LIBs/SIBs). Due to its prominent capacitance, good electronic conductivity and ability to constrain volume, the KTP/NC composite realizes highly electrochemical kinetics both in LIBs and SIBs . For LIBs, the KTP/NC composite delivers a superior reversible capacity of 598.1 mAh g −1 after 200 cycles at 0.5C, impressive cyclability with 225.5 mAh g −1 after 3000 cycles at an ultrahigh current density of 26.1 C and conspicuous rate performance of 160.6 mAh g −1 even at 52.2 C. In addition, the composite has a wide operation-temperature window with favorable capacities of 147.1–372.9 mAh g −1 from −10 °C to 50 °C. As for SIBs, the KTP/NC composite maintains a stable discharge capacity of 112.5 mAh g −1 after 700 cycles at a current density of 2.6 C and conspicuous rate performance of 86.7 mAh g −1 at 5.2 C. The KTP/NC anode exhibits discharge capacities of 29.9–112.6 mAh g −1 from −10 °C to 40 °C. The results demonstrate that the KTP/NC composite would be a promising electrode material for LIBs and SIBs.

The inherent limitations (particularly low discharged energy density, U d ≈2 J∙cm −3 ) of commercially available biaxially-oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film capacitors significantly restrict their broader application in advanced energy storage systems. This study presents a novel approach to overcome this limitation through the development of all-organic dielectric composite films. A ternary polymer blend matrix, comprising poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF), and poly(vinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene) (P(VDF-HFP)), is employed, with the incorporation of 1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxylic dianhydride (NTCDA) molecular semiconductors as nanofillers. Systematic investigation reveals that controlled modulation of the PMMA content within the blend matrix effectively suppresss leakage current by reducing crystallinity, minimizing crystallite size, and stabilizing the γ -phase in the ferroelectric polymer matrix. Simultaneously, the introduction of NTCDA nanofillers create a high density of deep electron traps, thereby impeding charge injection and enhancing charge carrier trapping within the composite film. The optimized composite film, incorporating 0.5 vol.% NTCDA and 40 wt.% PMMA within the PVDF/P(VDF-HFP) matrix, demonstrates a substantial enhancement in both breakdown strength ( E b ) of 1054 MV∙m −1 and U d of 28.10 J∙cm −3 , representing a considerable improvement over conventional BOPP-based capacitor. These findings offer a promising strategy for the design and fabrication of high-performance all-organic dielectric composite films for next-generation energy storage applications.

A porous composite electrode composed of diatomite-mixed 1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxylic dianhydride (NTCDA) is prepared by electrostatic spinning technology. Compared with traditional coated electrodes without diatomite mixing, the obtained composite electrode materials have higher porosity, larger specific surface area and faster lithium ion transport channels, which makes them exhibit better electrochemical performance, such as smaller impedance, higher capacity, and better cycling stability and rate performance. The electrospun diatomite-mixed 1,4,5,8-NTCDA composite (ED-1,4,5,8-NTCDA) electrode shows an initial coulombic efficiency of 77.2%, which is much higher than that of the electrospun 1,4,5,8-NTCA (E-1,4,5,8-NTCDA) electrode without diatomite mixing (63.8%) and the coated 1,4,5,8-NTCA (C-1,4,5,8-NTCDA) electrode (48.3%). Moreover, the ED-1,4,5,8-NTCDA electrode displays an initial discharge capacity of 1106.5 mA h g−1, which is much higher than that of the E-1,4,5,8-NTCDA electrode (546.0 mA h g−1) and the C-1,4,5,8-NTCDA electrode (185.4 mA h g−1). After 200 cycles, the capacity of the ED-1,4,5,8-NTCDA electrode remains at 1008.5 mA h g−1 with a retention ratio of 91.2%, which is also much higher than that of 753.2 mA h g−1 for the E-1,4,5,8-NTCDA electrode and 288.1 mA h g−1 for the C-1,4,5,8-NTCDA electrode. Even at a higher current density of 1500 mA g−1, its capacity remains above 508.9 mA h g−1. The ED-1,4,5,8-NTCDA electrode presents superior performance, which opens up a promising new approach for further utilization of organic materials as electrode materials in rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.

CNTC exhibits a micron-scale flower-like structure resembling sunflower seeds, with porous sites that enhance the capture of pollutants. • Its remarkable ability to adsorb multiple pollutants demonstrates significant potential for treating complex industrial wastewater streams. • CNTC exhibits maximum adsorption capacities of 1621.27 mg/g for CR, 158.99 mg/g for Cu 2+ , and 218.47 mg/g for sulfides. • CNTC demonstrates excellent application value in continuous flow adsorption. The rapid growth of urbanization and industrialization around the world has led to significant water pollution caused by humans. In response to the challenge of treating complex contamination involving dyes, heavy metals and sulfides, this study successfully designed and synthesized a porous micellar structure adsorbent (CNTC) using cyclodextrin as the raw material via molecular design. Physical characterization reveals that the material possesses unique morphological features and is rich in functional groups, such as hydroxyl, carboxyl and amino groups. It also has an extended π-π conjugated system, which provides multiple active sites for efficient adsorption. Adsorption experiments confirm that CNTC exhibits exceptional removal capacities for Congo red (CR), Cu 2+ and sulfides, with maximum adsorption capacities of 1621.27, 158.99 and 218.47 mg/g respectively. The adsorption process conforms to the multilayer chemisorption model and proceeds spontaneously. Notably, in dynamic column adsorption experiments, CNTC's adsorption behavior towards CR closely matches the Yoon–Nelson model, demonstrating its potential for continuous treatment. Furthermore, CNTC exhibits excellent cycling stability and salt tolerance, maintaining high pollutant removal efficiency in real aquatic environments, which indicates its significant practical application value. High-temperature dielectric polymers are in constant demand for the multitude of high-power electronic devices employed in hybrid vehicles, grid-connected photovoltaic and wind power generation, to name a few. There is still a lack, however, of dielectric polymers that can work at high temperature (> 150 °C). Herein, a series of all-organic dielectric polymer composites have been fabricated by blending the n-type molecular semiconductor 1,4,5,8-naphthalenetetracarboxylic dianhydride (NTCDA) with polyetherimide (PEI). Electron traps are created by the introduction of trace amounts of n-type small molecule semiconductor NTCDA into PEI, which effectively reduces the leakage current and improves the breakdown strength and energy storage properties of the composite at high temperature. Especially, excellent energy storage performance is achieved in 0.5 vol.% NTCDA/PEI at the high temperatures of 150 and 200 °C, e.g., ultrahigh discharge energy density of 5.1 J cm −3 at 150 °C and 3.2 J cm −3 at 200 °C with high discharge efficiency of 85–90%, which is superior to its state-of-the-art counterparts. This study provides a facile and effective strategy for the design of high-temperature dielectric polymers for advanced electronic and electrical systems.
