Photocatalytic hydrogen production is of great significance for the transformation of energy system . To improve the hydrogen production performance, nano-photocatalysts including pure TiO 2 and NiO-TiO 2 were prepared by sol-gel method in this paper. To unravel reaction intermediates and pathways, the adsorption experiments and photocatalytic reaction of ethanol over the photocatalysts were carried out in combination with in situ DRIFTS technique, and the main products in the photocatalytic process were detected through gas chromatography . The results showed that 2NiO-TiO 2 as the optimum photocatalyst can yield the maximum H 2 rate at 20.10 mmol g −1 h −1 . For the adsorption of ethanol on TiO 2 and 2NiO-TiO 2 , the molecular form of ethanol is more dominant than the dissociated form, and CH 3 CH 2 OTi is more easily generated on 2NiO-TiO 2 than pure TiO 2 . The hydrogen production pathway changes by doping with NiO, reducing the production of acetic acid and aldehydes and producing the important intermediate CH 2 CHOTi.
The degradation of a high concentration of organic pollutants has long been a challenge to water restoration, and the development of electro-Fenton catalysis offers a practical approach to solving this problem. In this study, a novel electro-Fenton catalyst, activated fullerene soot-loaded NiO-doped CeO2(0.4(0.4NiO-CeO2)-AFS) nanoparticles, was prepared through the impregnation of 0.4NiO-CeO2particles and activated fullerene soot (AFS). When applied for the degradation of 200 mg/L of tetracycline, this catalyst demonstrated a degradation rate as high as 99%. Even after 20 cycles, the degradation rate was more than 80%. Moreover, it was concluded that AFS could initiate the synergistic effect between Ni and Ce dual active centers in the degradation of tetracycline; this can be ascribed to the extremely large specific surface area of AFS.Keywords:fullerene soot;NiO-doped CeO2;tetracycline;degrading efficiency;electro-Fenton

It is crucial to develop high near- and mid-infrared emissivity radiation materials for energy-saving application in industrial furnaces at 1000 °C–1600 °C. In this study, NiO-doped MgCr 2 O 4 (MN), was prepared at different temperature using the solid-phase sintering method. The effect of temperature on infrared radiation property was investigated and the mechanism was discussed. The results show that the emissivity of MN in the near-to mid-infrared band is improved with the preparation temperature increasing from 1000 °C to 1600 °C. When the temperature is 1600 °C, the average infrared emissivity of MN is 0.88 in the wavelength range of 1.0–2.5 μm and 0.83 in the wavelength range of 2.5–14 μm. Compared with the samples treated at 1000 °C, the emissivity of MN is improved by 15 % in 1.0–2.5 μm waveband and 9 % in 2.5–14 μm waveband. The increase in temperature leads to an increase in the crystallinity of spinel. Moreover, at temperature above 1400 °C, the volatilization of Cr 2 O 3 results in an increase in the concentration of oxygen vacancies in spinel. At the same time, the Cr 5+ as well as Ni 3+ content increases and the forbidden bandwidth decreases, which were responsible for the increase of near- and mid-infrared radiation of MN.
