A new and rapid synthetic method toward polymer phenylethnylcopper (PPECu) nanowires is developed. PPECu nanowires have been firstly fabricated through using ascorbic acid instead of methanol as reducing agent. The preparation time of PPECu can be decreased from 48 to 2 h, even at a lower temperature. Ag/PPECu nanocomposites were prepared by the in situ reaction of PPECu and Ag (NH 3 ) + 2 ions with different concentrations. Ag/PPECu photocatalysts showed high visible-light H 2 production activity, which originated from the combined action of electrons transfer, sacrificing reagent and SPR effect of Ag nanoparticles.

The photocatalytic destruction of contaminants in water, such as antibiotics and dyes, has emerged as a hot topic in environmental treatment. The 2D/2D BiOBr/(001)-TiO 2 S-scheme heterojunction , decorated with Pt, was fabricated through in-situ construction and photochemical deposition techniques and utilized to effectively eliminate tetracycline hydrochloride , rhodamine B , and methyl orange. 0.3 wt% has the highest degradation activity when exposed to visible light , and all TC-HCL degradation can be accomplished in 5 min. The photodegradation rate constants of BiOBr and BiOBr/(001)-TiO 2 are 15.3 and 6.3 times higher, respectively. Its satisfactory photocatalytic performance can be attributed to efficient interfacial charge separation, surface plasmon resonance (SPR) effect-induced broadening of the light absorption range, and enhanced migration and separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs, as well as the formation of an S-scheme heterojunction with strong redox ability. Meanwhile, the larger heterogeneous interface of 2D/2D nanostructures offers efficient charge transfer channels and more reactive sites. Experiments involving electron spin resonance (ESR) and free radical capture demonstrated the generation of not only h + and O 2 − , but also more potent OH radicals. Furthermore, an effective S-scheme heterojunction carrier migration and degradation pathway was proposed based on the experimental results. This study proposes a novel concept for the production of S-scheme heterojunctions photocatalysts that are effective for wastewater pollutant degradation.
Development of efficient photocatalysts is vital for light-driven removal of refractory antibiotics. Herein, Bi 2 WO 6 microspheres were successfully anchored on the surface of bentonite, and metallic Bi was reduced in-situ by a one-step solvothermal method. Notably, the Bi/Bi 2 WO 6 /BT with a mass ratio of 0.15:1:0.1 exhibited the best photocatalytic activity toward degradation of tetracycline (TC) and ciprofloxacin (CIP) after 120 min of visible light irradiation, and their reaction rate constants were 8.0 and 5.5 folds higher than that of pristine Bi 2 WO 6 , respectively. The boosted photocatalytic activity over Bi/Bi 2 WO 6 /BT was ascribed to the establishment of electrostatic repulsion and SPR effect, which synergistically promoted charges transfer, thus achieving more h + and ·O 2 − radical generation. Moreover, possible TC and CIP degradation pathways over Bi/Bi 2 WO 6 /BT were proposed based on the identified intermediates, and most of the intermediates were less toxic than TC and CIP. The study provides options to develop high-efficiency photocatalytic composites for contaminants elimination using semiconductors and readily available bentonite.
