Herein, a novel electrochemical sensor was designed for the sensitive determination of methyl parathion (MP) using the Super P Li carbon black@β-cyclodextrin (SPLCB@β-CD) decorated glassy carbon electrode (GCE). SPLCB with high electroactive area exhibited exceptional conductivity and good dispersive property, which is beneficial for forming the interlinked conductive network structure. β-CD could not only promote the uniform dispersion of SPLCB but also effectively realise the enrichment of MP molecules. Moreover, the existence of SPLCB could make up for the defect of poor conductivity of β-CD. Under the optimal experimental condition (pH = 7.0, enrichment time: 60 s). The collaborative cooperation of SPLCB and β-CD achieved the excellent MP detection property (LOD: 8.6 nM; concentration range: 0.01–10 μM). The SPLCB@β-CD/GCE sensor exhibited acceptable repeatability and reproducibility. In addition, the proposed sensor was successfully employed to detect MP in apple juice (Recoveries: 98.0–98.6%, RSD values: 3.68–4.63%).

Carbonaceous nanomaterials have exhibited huge practical prospects as conductive sensitizers for the modification of electrodes. In this work, the nanocomposite of graphitized multi-walled carbon nanotubes@Super P Li carbon nanoparticles (GCNTs@SP-Li) was designed via a simple ultrasonication-assisted strategy, and then the GCNTs@SP-Li/GCE sensor based on the synthesized GCNTs@SP-Li nanocomposite decorating glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was successfully applied in the sensitive detection of isoproturon (ISO). For the GCNTs@SP-Li nanocomposite, GCNTs with porous structure presented excellent adsorption property, which contributed to the preconcentration of ISO and facilitated the electrolyte penetration. Additionally, GCNTs possessed good electrical conductivity owing its higher graphitization degree. More importantly, the interconnected dot-line-like structure of GCNTs@SP-Li nanocomposite acted as conductive “highways” to remarkably reduce the electron transport distance, which could significantly accelerate the process of redox reaction. Benefiting from the synergistic effect of GCNTs and SP-Li, the optimized GCNTs@SP-Li/GCE sensor showed a low detection limit of 0.1653 μM in the linear concentration of 0.7–30 μM. Additionally, the proposed sensor exhibited satisfactory recoveries from 97.2 to 101.6% towards the determination of ISO in river water and tap water. This work offers a feasible and cost-effective idea in developing the high-performance ISO electrochemical sensor.

A novel niclosamide (NA) electrochemical sensor was constructed by modifying glassy carbon electrode (GCE) with chitosan (CTS)-encapsulated and Super P Li carbon black (Super P)-embedded whisker carbon nanotubes (w-CNTs) networks. The incorporation of w-CNTs and Super P formed an integrated carbon-based conductive networks that dramatically boosted the conductivity property. Moreover, CTS prevented the agglomeration of carbon materials and anchored zero-dimensional Super P and one-dimensional w-CNTs, constructing the “point-to-line” conductive carbon networks. The good film-forming ability of CTS enhanced the stability of the fabricated sensor. By harnessing the synergistic interplay of CTS/Super P/w-CNTs, the CTS/Super P/w-CNTs/GCE sensor achieved the remarkably sensitive NA detection (LOD: 10.5 nM) within an acceptable NA concentration range (0.01–25 μM). For the practical application of NA detection in water samples, the designed sensor exhibited outstanding reliability, as confirmed by relative standard deviations (RSD) ranging from 1.07 % to 3.48 %, and recovery rates ranging from 97.30 % to 102.80 %.

We reported an one-pot ultrasonic-assisted method for the preparation of palygorskite nanorods/Super P Li carbon nanoparticles-graphitized carbon nanotubes (PNRs/SPCNPs-g-CNTs) nanocomposite, which was used to modify the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for the fabrication of PNRs/SPCNPs-g-CNTs/GCE sensor. For the PNRs/SPCNPs-g-CNTs nanocomposite, PNRs with good stability presented large specific surface area and high adsorption, which promoted the enrichment of NA molecules on the electrode surface. SPCNPs with pearl chain-like nanostructure exhibited good electrical conductivity , and the combination of SPCNPs and g-CNTs with high graphitization degree formed an interconnected carbon conductive network with excellent electrical conductivity, which enhanced the charge transport efficiency. Moreover, the interconnected carbon conductive network of SPCNPs-g-CNTs not only promoted the dispersion degree of PNRs but also made up for the poor conductivity property of PNRs. When used for the detection of niclosamide (NA), an acceptable limit of detection (3.6 nM) was achieved at the PNRs/SPCNPs-g-CNTs/GCE sensor in linear NA concentration range of 0.01–10 μM. The PNRs/SPCNPs-g-CNTs/GCE sensor exhibited good reproducibility, repeatability, and anti-interference performance. For the practicability measurement, the fabricated sensor showed good practicability with satisfactory recoveries (97.0–102.7%) and low RSD values of 0.99–4.78% for the detection of NA in tap water and lake water samples.
