Superconductivity in Platinum-Intercalated 2H-TaS₂

Lijia Zhou,Xiangjiang Dong,Qiang Li,Xianran Xing

We systematically investigated the superconducting properties of 2H-PtxTaS2 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.08). As the platinum (Pt) content increases, the charge density wave (CDW) in 2H-TaS2, which appears at approximately 75 K, is progressively suppressed and completely disappears in Pt0.06TaS2. Meanwhile, the superconducting transition temperature (Tc) first increases and then decreases, reaching its maximum value of approximately 4.85 K at x = 0.06. This phenomenon suggests a competitive interplay between CDW and superconductivity (SC) in this system. Further measurements of the superconducting parameters of Pt0.06TaS2 indicate that the enhancement of Tc is primarily attributed to an increase in the density of states at the Fermi level.

Anticancer effects of PEP06 (TB01) in combination with Trifluridine/Tipiracil (TAS-102) in a xenograft model of human colorectal cancer

Lin Ruohong,Cheng Jiaxing,Zhao Jinlong,Zhou Liang,Li Jian,Yang Xinchun

Background Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer globally, with advanced stages presenting significant treatment challenges. Recently years, drug combination therapy has become a promising strategy for cancer treatment. Objective To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of the combination of the anti-angiogenic drug PEP06 ( TB01) and the cytotoxic drug Trifluridine/Tipiracil (TAS-102) in human CRC HCT-116 xenograft mouse model. And quantitative assessment of the interaction between TB01 and TAS-102 in the treatment based on pharmacological effects. Methods This study utilized the human CRC HCT-116 xenograft nude mouse model to evaluate the antitumor effects of TAS-102 and TB01, both as mono-therapies and in combination therapies. Results The combination therapy not only demonstrated significantly inhibited tumor growth in a dose-dependent manner, but also seems to reduce the common toxicity associated with such treatments, as shown by the maintenance of body weights in the treated mice. Conclusion The synergistic effect observed from the combined use of TAS-102 and TB01 suggests a promising new treatment avenue for refractory CRC patients, meriting further investigation and potential clinical application.

F− surface modified ZnO for enhanced photocatalytic H2O2 production and its fs-TAS investigation

Xin Zhou,Chenbin Ai,Xiaojing Wang,Zhen Wu,Jianjun Zhang

Pure ZnO exhibits low photocatalytic H 2 O 2 production activity due to the rapid charge recombination. To realize the spatial separation of photogenerated electrons and holes, constructing an electron transfer channel on the ZnO surface is an effective approach. This study successfully modified the surface of ZnO using F – (ZnO/F) by introducing NH 4 F in an aqueous phase photocatalytic system. The F – is adsorbed on the ZnO surface by Coulombic force and significantly improves the photocatalytic H 2 O 2 production performance of ZnO, with the highest efficiency of 4137.2 μmol·g –1 ·L –1 ·h –-1 . The photocatalytic performance enhancement mechanism of ZnO/F is explained in terms of electron transfer dynamics by femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy (fs-TAS) measurements. F – surface modification constructs a new ultrafast electron transport pathway from the ZnO CB to F – , and the optimal ZnO/F exhibits the fastest interfacial electron transfer lifetime of 5.8 ps. The F – surface modification effectively facilitates the charge separation, thereby increasing the number of electrons available for photocatalytic H 2 O 2 reaction. This study has revealed the roles of F – surface modification in the photocatalytic H 2 O 2 production by ZnO and provides guidance for ionic modification to improve photocatalytic performance.

Atomic-layer-deposited MoS₂@TaS₂ nano-heterojunctions for dual-active quantum dot photoelectrochemical biosensing of nucleolin

Yazhou Huang,Junyan Lv,Lanxiang Gu,Junjie Tao,Songlong Jiao,Yu Zhao,Qun Wang,Guangyun Zhang,Aoyi Cai

Early cancer diagnosis remains a global challenge due to the lack of ultrasensitive and specific detection methods. Herein, we report a dual-active quantum dots (QDs) photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensing platform based on a MoS₂@TaS₂ nano-heterojunction engineered via atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the detection of nucleolin (NCL), a key cancer biomarker. The petal-like MoS₂@TaS₂ nanosheets exhibit enhanced light-harvesting and charge transport properties, as well as a high surface area for uniform QDs loading. This architecture promotes efficient charge separation and suppresses recombination through the synergistic interaction between the heterojunction and CdTe QDs. The resulting sensor achieves a wide linear range (1 fM to 1 nM) and an ultralow detection limit of 0.65 fM, along with excellent specificity and stability. This work offers a promising PEC strategy for early cancer diagnosis.

One-step ultrasonic synthesis and fs-TAS investigation of C3N4 nanosheet/thiophene-based polymer S-scheme photocatalyst for H2 production

Mian Wei,Xin Zhou,Chang Cheng,Jianjun Zhang,Chuanjia Jiang,Bei Cheng

Graphitic carbon nitride is flourishing in photocatalytic hydrogen production. However, the performance of traditional carbon nitride materials is limited by their scarcity of surface reactive sites and fast recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. Herein, we introduce a simple ultrasonic synthesis method that exfoliates bulk carbon nitride into nanosheets while simultaneously forming S-scheme heterojunctions with in-situ grown thiophene-based polymer through π–π interactions. The obtained carbon nitride nanosheet/polymer S-scheme heterojunction possesses abundant surface active sites and exhibits suppressed recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs, resulting in a hydrogen production rate approximately double that of bulk carbon nitride and a superior apparent quantum yield of 5.00%. The S-scheme charge transfer mechanism was proven by in-situ irradiated X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and time-resolved femtosecond-transient absorption analysis clarified the charge separation and transfer dynamics. This study demonstrates that combining organic semiconductors and hypercrosslinked polymers is a promising strategy for designing highly efficient S-scheme heterojunction photocatalysts.
