Adsorption can quickly remove pollutants in water, while photocatalysis can effectively decompose organic matter. B-TiO2/g-C3N4ternary composite photocatalytic materials were prepared by molten method, and their adsorption–degradation capability under visible light conditions was discussed. The morphology of the B-TiO2/g-C3N4materials was inspected by SEM, TEM, BET, and EDS, and the results showed that close interfacial connections between TiO2and g-C3N4, which are favorable for charge transfer between these two semiconductors, formed heterojunctions with suitable band structure which was contributed by the molten B2O3. Meanwhile, the molten B2O3effectively increased the specific surface area of TiO2/C3N4materials, thereby increasing the active sites and reducing the recombination of photogenerated electron–hole pairs and improving the photocatalytic degradation abilities of TiO2and g-C3N4. Elsewhere, the crystal structure analysis (XRD, XPS, FTIR) results indicated that the polar -B=O bond formed a new structure with TiO2and g-C3N4, which is not only beneficial for inhibiting the recombination of electron holes but also improving the photocatalytic activity. By removal experiment, the adsorption and degradation performances of B-TiO2/g-C3N4composite material were found to be 8.5 times and 3.4 times higher than that of g-C3N4. Above all, this study prepared a material for removing water pollutants with high efficiency and provides theoretical support and experimental basis for the research on the synergistic removal of pollutants by adsorption and photocatalysis.Keywords:adsorption;degradation;B2O3;TiO2/C3N4;molten

A series of nonmetallic elements co-doped titanium dioxide coated carbon nitride nanotubes (C/X-TiO 2 @C 3 N 4 NTs, X = N, F, Cl) was successfully prepared by a simple sol-gel-pyrolysis process using phenolic organic pollutants, titanium butoxide, and carbon nitride nanotubes as precursors. The morphology, porosity, phase and chemical structure, and optical and electronic property of as-prepared C/X-TiO 2 @C 3 N 4 NTs were well characterized. The as-prepared C/X-TiO 2 @C 3 N 4 NTs exhibited excellent visible-light photocatalytic activity in the conventional degradation and hydrogen evolution systems compared with traditional TiO 2 /g-C 3 N 4 heterojunction, which is attributed to their unique tubular nanostructure and nonmetallic elements co-doped TiO 2 component. Subsequently, the visible-light photocatalytic activity of C/X-TiO 2 @C 3 N 4 NTs was further studied in the simultaneous hydrogen evolution with organic pollutant degradation system on the basis of our previous work. The reaction mechanisms in different photocatalytic systems were further discussed in detail.

A new photocatalyst of TiO 2 /C 3 N 4 composite (TiO 2 /g-C 3 N 4 ) was synthesized by the hydrothermal method. The characterization showed that TiO 2 /g-C 3 N 4 extended absorption light range and enhanced generation efficiency of photo-induced electron. Under the simulated solar irradiation, the photodegradation rate of bisphenol A (BPA) by TiO 2 /g-C 3 N 4 was twice as fast as that of g-C 3 N 4 . Furthermore, TiO 2 /g-C 3 N 4 presented the good stability and excellent selectivity for BPA degradation. The high degradation rate of BPA by TiO 2 /g-C 3 N 4 was demonstrated to be superoxide radical (·O 2 − ) and singlet oxygen ( 1 O 2 ) by radical quenching experiment, which was further evidenced by EPR, XPS, DRS and PL analysis. These findings revealed that TiO 2 /g-C 3 N 4 can be used as a potential photocatalyst for removing organic pollutants in actual environmental remediation.
