To meet the demands of next-generation optoelectronic circuits, the design and construction of photodetectors with a tunable photoresponse range and self-powered feature are urgently required. To achieve selective wavelength detection, a band-pass filter is usually required to dislodge the interference of a certain wavelength light, which inevitably enhances the weight and increases the cost. Here, we demonstrate a self-powered photodetector with a tunable response range by constructing a heterojunction structure consisting of poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT), a TiO2 interlayer, and silicon nanowires. By controlling the P3HT concentration, both core–shell and embedded configurations can be obtained, which exhibit different response ranges. This work provides a convenient route to construct self-powered wavelength-selective photodetectors, which may find applications in light communication and biomedical engineering.

The sluggish kinetics of the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) refers to the major contributor to the energy losses in electrowinning of metals. Improving the stability in the long term and activity of the electrocatalyst for OER take on a critical significance in reducing the energy consumption. An efficient and stable OER electrode (named as Ti/SMST/IrO 2 electrode) was prepared in this study by supporting IrO 2 nanoparticles on the surface of the submicrometer-sized TiO 2 (SMST) interlayer. The obtained results indicated that the IrO 2 nanoparticles approximately 14 nm in size were supported onto the submicrometer-sized TiO 2 particles’ surface and exhibited a cactus-like morphology. The Ti/SMST/IrO 2 electrode with the SMST interlayer prepared at 450 °C exhibited the highest electrocatalytic activity in terms of OER for its largest active surface area. This electrode showed an overpotential of 350 mV at a current density of 50 mA cm −2 and displayed a remarkable electrochemical stability of 443 h at a high current density of 2 A cm −2 in H 2 SO 4 solution without significant change in OER activity. The prepared Ti/SMST/IrO 2 electrode with high electrocatalytic performance is considered one of the promising electrodes for OER.
Ti/TiO 2 / SnO 2 -Sb-Ir/SnO 2 -Sb-Ni electrodes modified with three kinds of TiO 2 interlayer materials were fabricated. TiO 2 macroporous membrane (MAc) substrate was prepared by direct calcination, and TiO 2 nanotubes (NTs) and TiO 2 mesoporous membrane (MEs) substrate were fabricated by anodic oxidation under different conditions. The study shows that the TiO 2 -nanotube-based anode reduces crack morphology and provides a larger surface area for loading the electrochemically active materials. TiO 2 -NTs as the optimized interlayer improve the oxygen evolution potential (OEP) from 1.49 to 1.85 V and increase the current density of the oxidation peak from 0.28 to 0.55 mA cm −2 , which enhances the oxidative degradation ability of the electrode. In addition, the service life of the Ti/TiO 2 -NTs/SnO 2 -Sb-Ir/SnO 2 -Sb-Ni electrodes is 3.18 times longer than that of the Ti/SnO 2 -Sb-Ir/SnO 2 -Sb-Ni electrodes according to accelerated life tests. The degradation rate of methylene blue (MB) wastewater with an initial concentration of 20 mg L −1 reaches 99.14% under 5.0 V within 5 min by using Ti/TiO 2 -NTs/SnO 2 -Sb-Ir/SnO 2 -Sb-Ni electrodes, which is 1.67 times more than that of the Ti/SnO 2 -Sb-Ir/SnO 2 -Sb-Ni electrodes. In this study, a polyamide (PA) membrane with an intermediate layer structure of MXene-TiO 2 (referred to as MXT-NFM) was utilized for the removal of PFCs. Experimental results confirm that MXT-NFM exhibited remarkable capacity in intercepting PFCs, accompanied by the high water flux. To gain insights into the mechanisms governing membrane fouling induced by PFCs, inorganic ions, and organics, a series of fouling tests were conducted using MXT-NFM under diverse conditions. Additionally, the XDLVO theory was employed to provide a theoretical perspective on the interactions occurring during the fouling process. The findings suggest that the MXene-TiO 2 intermediate layer contributed to the exceptional hydrophilicity and rough surface properties, enabling multiple functionalities. These include alleviating membrane pore plugging, improving the physical configuration of the PA layer, and effectively mitigating fouling phenomena in coexisting systems during practical applications. Moreover, the particle size of pollutant colloids and the acid–base interaction were identified as decisive factors influencing the development of membrane fouling. Perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) were efficiently removed by MXene-TiO 2 interlayered nanofiltration membrane. Influences of various parameters on the PFCs removal were investigated. Influences of various conditions on the membrane fouling were studied. Mechanism of membrane fouling was analyzed by the XDLVO theory.
