In recent years, the detection and monitoring of cadmium (Cd(II)) have gained considerable attention due to its widespread applications in various industries, such as electronics, batteries, and coatings, and its classification as a highly hazardous pollutant. This study presents the development of a novel electrochemical sensor based on ion-imprinted polymers (IIPs) and reduced graphene oxide-titanium oxide (rGO@TiO 2 ) for the selective and sensitive detection of Cd(II). Under optimized experimental conditions, the electrochemical sensor displayed a satisfactory linear relationship in the concentration range of 10 −8 to 10 −5 mol L −1 , with a lowest detection limit of 1.2 × 10 −8 mol L −1 . The sensor exhibited excellent repeatability, stability, high sensitivity, and strong selectivity. Finally, the electrochemical sensor was successfully applied to determine trace Cd(II) in practical samples. This novel electrochemical sensor based on IIPs and rGO@TiO 2 holds great potential for practical applications in environmental monitoring and pollution control, providing a promising tool for the accurate and efficient detection of hazardous pollutants like Cd(II).
Aimed at achieving high efficiency of photocatalytic hydrogen production from ammonia borane (NH3BH3, AB), a reduced graphene oxide (rGO)-modified TiO2 photocatalyst was proposed for hydrogen production. In this study, rGO/TiO2 photocatalysts with different rGO contents were prepared and characterized by XRD, UV–vis DRS, FTIR, Raman, and SEM. The experimental results showed that addition of rGO can reduce the band gap energy of TiO2, and the band gap energy of rGO/TiO2 varies with the content of rGO, and 1% rGO/TiO2 has the lowest band gap energy of 2.96 eV. This indicates that the modification of TiO2 by rGO not only increases the probability of electron transition but also promotes the separation of photoelectron and hole pairs due to the good conductivity of rGO so as to improve the quantum efficiency of photocatalysis. In addition, compared with pure TiO2, rGO/TiO2 shows a certain photocatalytic activity under the condition of light irradiation. Among the rGO/TiO2 photocatalysts with different contents of rGO, 1% rGO/TiO2 shows the best photocatalytic performance of ammonia borane hydrolysis, and the value of turnover frequency is 1088.93 μmol·min–1·g–1. Furthermore, the catalyst 1% rGO/TiO2 shows perfect reusability, and its catalytic activity did not decrease significantly even after five reaction cycles.
