β -Iminophosphonamide ligated lanthanum bis(benzyl) complex (NPN Dipp )La(CH 2 Ph-4-Me) 2 (THF) (NPN Dipp = Ph 2 P(NC 6 H 3
i Pr 2 -2,6) 2 ), upon activation of AlEt 3 and [Ph 3 C][B(C 6 F 5 ) 4 ], exhibited high catalytic activity and high trans -1,4 stereoselectivity for the polymerization of bio-sourced β -myrcene (MY). Based on which, a series of novel trans -1,4 regulated elastomers could be generated by random/block copolymerization of MY and isoprene (IP).
Abstract To obtain aromatic polyamides with reduced dielectric constant, a series of aromatic polyamide copolymers derived from the reaction between m -phenylenediamine to trans -1,2-cyclohexanediamine and isophthaloyl chloride were synthesized using the low-temperature solution polymerization in the presence of 2-methylpyridine. The influence of the content of trans -1,2-cyclohexanediamine on the structure and properties of aromatic copolyamides was evaluated. With increasing the content of trans -1,2-cyclohexanediamine, the inherent viscosities of copolymers decrease from 1.95 to 1.14 dL/g. The copolymer with 25 mol % of trans -1,2-cyclohexanediamine has a reduced dielectric constant ε r of 4.61 at 1 MHz, which is 26% lower than homopolyamide. Meanwhile, as-synthesized aromatic polyamides and copolyamides show good thermal stability and mechanical properties.

Rare-earth metal complexes bearing pyridyl-functionalized amidinate ligands were synthesized, and upon activation by a borate, all of these complexes exhibited high catalytic activities for the living polymerization of isoprene and myrcene to generate trans-1,4 polymers (≤96.8% for polyisoprene and ≤94.8% for polymyrcene). A metal dependence effect was observed, and the scandium complexes with a smaller central ion afforded polymers with the highest trans-1,4-regularity. Moreover, the 3-Sc/[PhMe2NH][B(C6F5)4] binary system also promoted block copolymerization of isoprene and ε-caprolactone, affording the copolymers that consisted of a nonpolar polyisoprene block possessing trans-1,4-microstructure and a polar poly(ε-caprolactone) block.
