itric acid is a common organic acid in living organisms and serves as an important food flavoring agent. Furthermore, citrate is the product of the first reaction in the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle. This assay kit is suitable for detecting citrate in biological samples such as animal and plant tissues, bacteria, cultured cells, mitochondria, serum, or plasma. In this kit, under acidic conditions, citrate reduces Cr⁶⁺ to Cr³⁺, generating a characteristic absorption peak at 545 nm. The citrate content in the sample is calculated by measuring the absorbance at this wavelength (545 nm).
