Cysteine (Cys) is one of the common amino acids that constitute proteins, and its quantitative determination is of significant importance in nutritional and biochemical research. This kit employs a phosphomolybdic acid colorimetric method for the determination of cysteine content: utilizing the reducing property of cysteine, phosphomolybdic heteropoly acid is reduced to blue phosphomolybdic heteropoly blue, which exhibits a characteristic absorbance peak at 710 nm. By measuring the absorbance at this wavelength and referencing a standard curve, the cysteine content in the sample can be precisely calculated.
